  1. Hi Rebecca and welcome, them 'golden tickets' are much prized on here, they dont come easy but dont worry about them now. Just hang around and contribute. Enjoy your stay.
  2. Spartacus was out of Parks bitch to a Gould dog I think Time dims memory but did Gouldy ever put that in his avertisments for the dog. If he did, i really can't remember...? Spartacus was primarily bred for stud and was heavily advertised as such. I don't know what was in advert mate, but link below has bit more info and Lahosh from memory was usually bang on.........post #24 on this old thread http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/12518-gould-lines/?p=121713 Yes mate, i'd take that as on the money, well played for remembering and finding it. Later he confirms what i knew about
  3. Last shout before it goes the tip..?

  5. Surely, with all the information on game dogs, you could see from the matches which bred type is the better. I'd have my money on line bred dogs...
  6. As i said at the begining of the thred, the EBT is a creation for the show bench, no if's but's or maybe's. In comparison to a game bred bulldog the breed is almost a none starter BUT when used in the mix with either lurchers or working terriers the resulting progeny are, in the main, very good..! And, they are just about the most striking breed there is, so if someone fancys sommat different and they do their homework, then why not. You could do a lot worse... Could you?
  7. 2015-10-31 12.07.52.jpg this is my young terrier i think she has a look of yours bosun
  8. Now that really is 'THE' question Bryan, the one i was hoping we'd get to...I have no idea but i'd love to find out.. I haven't heard of any cowan blood around for years, my old man really rated them as hard dogs and some of his best dogs came straight out of cowans yard, only problem was they would kill anything that moved I know AG brought some good Cowan blood with him when he came to hunt the Waterford foxhounds in the late 80's and MF carried on with that blood, but it's well diluted by now. Bryan, i've just been googling John Cowan and a couple of old archived THL threds exist. John
  9. Yep, some bloody good dogmen from that town snd surrounding areas.
  10. If its genuinly from his line then, in my expierience, that would be the usual...

  12. J.P is still alive and well, so i'm sure he still keeps the odd terrier about the place, his lines are still about too.
  13. If thats how his line goes (?) Then yes KS. Early/mid 80's. What i've wrote is what i know.
  14. This may sound a bit daft but that dog i had and his parents before him (i knew them well) and other 'rock dogs' i've known of, ALL where born climbers. Terriers that would climb and perch rather than stay on terra-firma. I hope this makes sense but that type of dog would/could not stand on the ground and look up, they had to climb and find out. Squirrles in trees (foxes in trees!!), garden walls and fences, chair backs and arms in the house, back of car seats in moving cars... They just had to be up and perched. The owner of the brother to Todd made the mistake of chaining him to the kennel
  15. But enough of this on here...
  16. They can 'usually' be spotted easily and even if not in uniform stand out like sore thumbs. The lads that do, know. And dogs dont leave the back of the vehicles.
  17. Yes RH, the red dog, the one that left him and he tried very hard to get back. My friend bought him in good faith from 'someone' and when he found out went to see JP, who let him keep the dog.
  18. Here's two oldies of him, one with a full coat and the other shaved down. He looked like a black n tan box headed whippet, one of the reasons anyone who had a decent bitch stayed clear...
  19. Usually the Welsh lads haha AtYeeep lol I had to look twice at the one couldn't believe it was thereTaking 'well worked' dogs to a show wouldn't be everyones cup of tea. For me, i'm very glad they do, and come to our show. Because its real workers I love to see!
  20. Why didn't you breed off him? To be honest, i dont really know Bryan. He was good enough, bred well enough but i was young and the local lads i went out with all thought he was a leggy, hyper, pain in the arse. I was gifted a crackin Park bred bitch, which he lined but i got her jabbed as i wanted to use a Park dog called Mick that had a justified name for itself. That lining did come about, in police kennels after Micks owner & Paul Blackledge got nicked on a dig, as i'd loaned her to him till she took! So, the answer to why i didn't line Todd is... ? But i know now i should of..!!!
  21. I've put a pic up on the show (GF) thred.
  22. As well as our Judges, Gouldy, Socks & Busher, it was good to have Barrie Wade there, George Hardy too & good to see Brian Nuttall make a late entrance and looking well.
  23. You should have said hello to the big ugly fecker on the microphone.. Me! lol
