    They can 'usually' be spotted easily and even if not in uniform stand out like sore thumbs. The lads that do, know. And dogs dont leave the back of the vehicles.

    Yes RH, the red dog, the one that left him and he tried very hard to get back. My friend bought him in good faith from 'someone' and when he found out went to see JP, who let him keep the dog.

    Here's two oldies of him, one with a full coat and the other shaved down. He looked like a black n tan box headed whippet, one of the reasons anyone who had a decent bitch stayed clear...

    Why didn't you breed off him? To be honest, i dont really know Bryan. He was good enough, bred well enough but i was young and the local lads i went out with all thought he was a leggy, hyper, pain in the arse. I was gifted a crackin Park bred bitch, which he lined but i got her jabbed as i wanted to use a Park dog called Mick that had a justified name for itself. That lining did come about, in police kennels after Micks owner & Paul Blackledge got nicked on a dig, as i'd loaned her to him till she took! So, the answer to why i didn't line Todd is... ? But i know now i should of..!!!

    As well as our Judges, Gouldy, Socks & Busher, it was good to have Barrie Wade there, George Hardy too & good to see Brian Nuttall make a late entrance and looking well.

    Not bad RH, i'd say maybe down on last year but still bloody good. Those pics are at the end of the day, championship and veteran.

    You got to give Ken his due, stood in that ring all day under a hot sun and gave everyone the time and attention of a man much younger. Fantastic with the kids, still an eye for the ladies, Ken did the club and himself proud. Fair play to you Ken Gould, crackin job.

    Todd had a couple of goes each year Tank. I prefered to dig but when i went with them blokes they had a few specks in old quarrys etc. That Todd dog came out of two lines, Cyril Tysons and John Cowans. I'd like to think that blood from either line is still knocking about but i have no idea. That photo is from about 1985. Todd never lined anything.

    Yup, Treehands is dead right, sand has killed more dogs than rock ever did! As for rock dogs, my first good terrier was born out of rock dogs. Big Kev Stone from Wigan bred him, out of a Tyson dog Jack, to a Cowan bitch Lassie. Jack was your text book digging dog, a good finder, staying till dug, in big places, a black n tan that was both a looker and a real worker. He looked and worked every inch the line he was from, big boned, hard coated and dead steady. A bayer that loved to get a grip when you broke through. Lassie was a bit different, though still black n tan, she was light boned,

    I'm sort of the opposit to you Gnash in that only the Games get me watching and enjoying sports i'd never bother with otherwise. Track and field is a given, as is womens volleyball but swimming, diving, cycling, bmx, archery and loads more are watchable and given the event are very enjoyable! Lookin forward to it as always.
