    None of them pats or lakeys jib then eh??? The biggest problem borders have had in recent years has been their popularity and the greedy feckers selling them for stupid money. I love borders as a breed but got forced out of keeping them because of the price and the fact that they get bred to feck for cash not work.

    Oh ok but can you still work jills in season? Is it not worth having both sized nets? A 4ft net will catch anywhere mate, 3ft you'll struggle to cover some holes with. Jills and hobs both come in season and can both play up work wise when their mind is on other things, i've seen a couple of people keep neutered hobs for working through the summer.

    I always used to put small leather collars or kitten collars on mine and leave them on in the cage weeks before I started working them so they got used to wearing one. Theres nothing more annoying than a new ferret spending half the day trying to get the collar off when it should be learning the ropes underground. My presesnt batch of ferrets i've just put the collars on the day of their first encounter with burrows and they haven't been bothered, not sure if thats because they are the wide mk3 collars and they arent as irritating to the ferrets as the old mk1s?

    Ive seen the vids of them skinning things alive, cooking them alive etc but that is a new disgusting low that vid. Every single one of the dirty yeller fuckers that drove over her or walked past wants lining up on the deck and a wagon driving over them slowly starting at the feet and working its way up gradually. If that were my little girl I would skin each and every one of them alive, I feel sick after watching that and i've watched some sick stuff on the net.

    I've used carpet before and the dog ended up with carpet burns trying to scartch itself a comfy spot to lie in so that got swiftly binned. At the moment I use clean hessian sacks as I can get them from work. When we move the lurchers going to use the couch as a bed

    I've been out with a dog that was this breeding I think and it was tiny but like shit off a shovel, caught and retrieved rabbits and was well behaved.

    Ive done the squuezing method myself a few times and it does work pretty good. I use my Felco secateurs we get given at work for the legs sometimes too, heads I just twist off once the skin is pulled back to them.

    The MK3 is miles better once you get the hang of it mate just some lads are stuck in the dark ages and cant get their heads round using it, if you've never used a mk1 and are learning from scratch with a mk3 you'll be laughing

    Are yours bigger heavier dogs? My whippet never injured its feet in about 8 years of running whatever it wanted wherever it wanted.

    Is the 40ft collar as accurate as the ferret collar? I use the old mk3 (not mk3m) ferret collar on my terrier, just change the strap which is the same diameter.

    My mates got a little collie whippet x whippet grey and he's turning into a handy dog on the rabbiting job. I'll stick a pic on in a bit.

    Part boil one SS he'll eat it then, gradually reduce how much you boil it till he's eating one whole. My old terrier wouldn't touch any raw meat at all until I got another dog and then he either twigged it was food or ate it so the other couldn't but either way after that he would eat anything.

    Have you heard the racket a guinea fowl makes if you go for a nocturnal wander through a wood, thats why keepers have them.

    So will a brace of decent fit jills. Feck carrying 6 or 8 ferrets and all the gear to the holes and then the same and all the rabbits back again. If it was a 100 hole warren then fair enough but theres not many working warrens like that week in week out.
