  1. went in to one of my pheasant release pens one morning and picked up about 7 dead poults all with signs of being killed by a bird of prey , I immediately thought "Gos hawk" . So I returned after my rounds to wait all day if need be to "shoo away" the culprit.I settled down tucked away to wait , didn't have to wait long as this bird swooped straight over my head like a Harris hawk and nailed another poult right in front of my eyes . It wasn't eating them just killing, for the sake of it , and what was it ? A Buzzard, the harmless carrion eaters . They don't all behave like that I know but a few
  2. As I've already said, more flip flops than Skeggy in August. Mrs May was a Remainer ! Not a very vocal one, but a Remainer never the less. Suddenly she has had an epiphany, and wakes up one morning as a hard line Brexiteer - I don't buy it ! Her record as Home Secretary wasn't exactly sparkling (massive reduction in police numbers, failure to reduce immigration, prisons in crisis, I could go on.....). As PM, she planned changes to self employed VAT, which were dropped a few days later, and during he election campaign she dropped the so called 'dementia tax' at manifesto stage, havin
  3. and when it's about 6ins in , whisper in his ear "can you tell what it is yet "?
  4. UKIP is a spent force it's job done for them , and without Farage they look way out of their depth . Labour are a joke , Conservatives called this election to get a majority so they can push through Brexit without remainers hindering them . Also there is a chance the hunting ban is overturned, why wouldn't you vote conservative?

  6. That looks like an enlightening and informative publication, unfortunately I've found that there is very little purchase on the paper and when I was wiping my arse with it some of my tag nuts wouldn't budge . Back to the Kleenex.
  7. If you can afford it go for Swazi , without doubt the dogs what's its .if you want something waterproof and breathable duckdri products are good . I think I've tried the lot and Like redquil said they are alright in a high seat or on a quad but try to do any sort of physical exertion and you will be wetter on the inside than you would be without it on . Swillington shooting supplies do Swazi and I can recommend their customer service, check them out I know they are pricey but you won't regret it .
  8. The great unwashed, disaffected, self righteous, largely urban fraggles are making a pathetic last ditch attempt to stop the ban being repealed. Weather it does or not remains to be seen . I hope some are reading this , cos guess what the ban didn't stop us and never will, we've just had to modify things a little. See some of you when I'm out cubbing in September, can't wait to have our little chats and see your happy smiling faces "not". The guys look like they need a good dinner and the women look like they need something else .
  9. The cool kids watched Magpie on ITV , but the straight kids watched Blue Peter on the Beeb . My parents monitored my viewing and approved of the wholesome content of BP , John Noakes was always up to some sort of nonsense and was a breath of fresh air in an otherwise boring TV kids program. In spite of my parents well meaning care " I still grew up to be a reprobate ".
  10. First of all your mate will have to apply for a variation on his firearms . I'm just assuming he hasn't got an authorisation to acquire one . If he already has one he will have to show good cause to own a second . The police seem reluctant to issue a licence for rifles of the same caliber . Best bet is to apply for your own .
  11. Looks like pyoderma or hotspot, can be caused by flea bite . Treatment.. the vet will give you fuciderm . You might try hydracautisone .
  12. The peltor 3m ear protectors are the best and will give you many years service , I have had mine for 10 years , maybe longer. So I can tell you that they are money well spent . I also have tried the Howard ear protectors, and they work well and do the same job as the peltor . I can not say how long they last , and seem a bit poorer quality .
  13. Hi springer man , zeroing was fairly straightforward. I've got the N970lrf , which has " one shot " zeroing . I'm not at all technical minded and struggle with computers and even the TVs remote , but I was determined and just followed the instructions and amazed myself . I had it bang on at 100 meters with 3 shots .
  14. Hi mate , Had the same thought when I fitted mine . I'm no expert, but I've seen those add on nv setups and you shoot looking into a small screen with your head off the stock . I've been using my pulsar for a week now and you have to lift your head slightly to look through the scope . I have sighted it in and been out and shot a couple of rabbits to practice. And have now had three foxes with it . My advice is have a practice and get the feel of it before you try live quarry . Good luck
  15. Thanks for your help David, much appreciated.
  16. Just got the Pulsar N970 lrf . I've watched a review of the 870 on YouTube and read some reviews and they all say that the built in ir is useless and the unit benefits from an ir add . The nightmaster 800 is the one used on YouTube, but is quite pricey, or the T20 ir which is cheaper sounds more appealing, I know you get what you pay for and all that but I'm not going to be taking silly long shots, I would be happy if it would perform to 150 yards . Will the T20 be good enough ?
  17. Just looked at the news this morning, and they have released pictures of the Croydon attackers . Guess what they are people of colour . So the attack is not some white EDL supporters , which the BBC would have loved . What's the betting we don't here much more about it ?
  18. An English man , Irish man, a Scott and Welsh man , out hunting deer . They approach a clearing and a nice six pointer presents a shot , Taff says he will take the shot , but shoots a bit low and the buck is hit but runs mortally wounded . Paddy and Taff decide to look for the body , leaving Jock and the English man in the clearing. Half an hour goes by and no sign of paddy and Taff , so they decide to see what's going on . They follow the blood trail and come to another small clearing, and there in front of them is Taff slumped over a fallen tree with his trousers around his ankles and Paddy
  19. My Mrs bidded for and won a dolls house on eBay . When she picked it up , the sellers were Indian . She brought it home and it absolutely reeked of curry , and stunk our house out . She got me to take it in the shed and give it a paint , hoping it would mask the paint . It was better but it still smelled. Imagine that only a whole house . The curry smell seeps into everything and even paint won't get rid of all the smell . I think it's nothing to do with racism, just protecting and looking after his property.
  20. Englishman looks out of his window and sees one of his chickens laying an egg in his neighbors garden. Quick as a flash he knocks on his neighbors door, who just happens to be a Pakistani. He explains what has happened and that he would like to have the egg . "Oh no my friend, in my country if it is on my land it is my egg ". The English man thinks for a moment and says, "well mate you are in England now , and the way we sort out a disagreement like this is to have a bollock kicking competition. We take turns kicking each other's bollocks until one gives in and the winner keeps the egg". "Soun
  21. its funny , I've spoken to a few lads and no one seems to have any experience of cut dogs , preferring to keep them like you said in tact . It sounds like it shouldn't make any difference to his work . I'm not bothered about using him on a bitch . There are a lot better dogs than him out there . But he is useful . I don't give him enough earth work to really test him . If I get 10 a season he has done well .
  22. thats the sort of thing I want to hear . Don't want to be without him . But in tact he is a bloody nuisance when a bitch is about . And I am also thinking of his physical well being .
  23. Took my Russell dog to the vets yesturday because he was pissing a bit of blood . Turns out his prostate gland is enlarged and pressing on his bladder . He is a nightmare when there is a bitch about in season , yipping and barking and now the blood . The vet prescribed anti inflammatorys and antibiotics and suggests castration . He is a good little fox dog and very usefull to me . I'm not bothered about breeding with him and I know he will be putting on weight easily . Apart from that will it effect his drive and aggression ? I've had terriers a good few years and never had a dog done . My d
  24. I don't like any form of hole ending, it's counter productive and illegal. Your youngsters don't know if the animals dead or alive, I'd personally shoot it then put a wall of soil in the way to encourage them to dig on and to let them get hot blooded before they make contact ;-)that sounds like common scence dillydog , and no doubt learnt through experience . I have had some dogs in years gone by that I should have given away as pets , but tried all sorts of tricks to get em going . None of which really worked . It all comes down to breeding , if you have the right pup it will work when it
