  1. When on the buildings and using lime in mortars and renders we always use udder cream . The stuff you get from the agricultural merchants that farmers put on cows tits to stop them being sore , cheaper than hand cream and very effective .
  2. You are bang on I've had dogs off mates and kept them till they were sorted . A good dog will always find a home without being touted or sold off a forum .
  3. Think of the feeling when you are 1.4 down about to break through and you lose the.signal and you look around and your dog who up to now has done well is stood in the mouth of the hole and won't go back , and you realise he's quit . That feeling is sickening . I don't like that feeling and I don't like digging a ruddy deep hole through Cotswold stone for nothing . So when you get a good dog in the team you keep it . It's that simple . Good dogs don't get sold on . Unless a change of domestic circumstances means someone has to let their dogs go . But that's different .
  4. Personally I would be very sceptical about any dog offered as a 100% or rock solid dog on a forum . But it is all about standards , the lads I know have high standards and wouldn't sell a dog or gift a dog that didn't meet that standard , their name wouldn't be associated with sub standard stock . But having said that when I was younger and had my first terriers , looking back they were a poor lot . But I had loads of fun and some good sport , mooching and digging , two or three to ground . Horrendous really and bad practice , but it was the early eighties and we didn't know any better . There
  5. Must have taken them years to get to that standard , fantastic !!!
  6. Thanks tiercel that's just what I was hoping for . Price is important and £7 seems reasonable . And even for someone with basic culinary skills like me , it seems straight forward . Many thanks for your help
  7. that's the idea , sounds good , I'll google a recipe and give it a go . I'll let you know how it goes down .
  8. That bit comes later , we have soup for elevenses . The Mrs also makes cake or flapjack . We look after our beaters , it wouldn't happen without them .
  9. Hi there, I'm after some ideas for beaters soup . I make a soup every week for the beaters , I usually make a veg soup or one made with tinned tomatoes . I get the feeling they may fancy a change . Any ideas would be welcome , I make it for 16 - 18 nothing too complicated and no pumpkin recipes Tried that one and it didn't go down well . I would appreciate any pointers and fresh ideas , thanks
  10. Over the years I've been fortunate enough to witness some very good dogs . I'm a gamekeeper and although I have terriers myself , none are top 100% dogs , bolters and spewers . But they serve me ok . I've had some good lads come on the estate I keeper , and there is one thing I've noticed , they are dedicated . They live and breath their dogs . They might do a bit of fishing in the off season , but apart from that their whole life seems to be terriers . I've been offered pups from some guys but I've had to turn them down because they would be too much dog for me . I'm quite content to leave th
  11. let that forest defeat go Gnasher , it's eating you up , hey life's too short . I'm an optimist , and I watched the highlights on match of the day and thought it was a good performance , ok against a manager less palace , but there were signs that we're promising . I'm actually looking forward to watching the next game and I haven't said that for a while ! Lol
  12. i think your right , I'm a land lubber not an expert sea fisherman .
  13. Exactly.......but I still hate him !! He can't ever be forgiven for that turnout at Forrest last season.........ever.......ever !! Exactly.......but I still hate him !! He can't ever be forgiven for that turnout at Forrest last season.........ever.......ever !! I am a guy who just follows from my armchair not a season ticket holder and I don't expect much , mid table and a bit of a cup run and I know that Forest game still hurts . But I am feeling a bit optimistic for the first time in a while , I know it probably won't last .
  14. Not so much a funny sight but a funny incident . Years ago before I became an upstanding citizen I was , shall we say known to trespass in pursuit of game at night . Me and my mate were returning to my van which was parked behind the hedge in the field , we could see two coppers shining torches in through the windows . We stashed the lamp and rabbits and went to speak to plod . "Alright boys been lamping have we" , "nah mate , just walking the dogs " . " oh yeah , green wellies , Barbour jackets , lurchers , you've been lamping " !!! "F-ck me ! You're some sort of detective ".Said my mate , bi
  15. What big man , do you mean sick note ? Lol
  16. Didn't see the West Ham game against Crystal Palace , only watched Gillette soccer Saturday and listened to Mersons opinion 3 goals to 1 a good result . Be interested to hear what Gnasher and Wilf have to say . Zarate seems like a good signing . Maybe things are changing with Teddy on board and Sam promising to play more expansive football .
  17. Not dissing your bus mate just poking a bit of fun at the antis and I'm describing the types I've come into contact with , it's funny isn't it that they say that they are trying to be different and individuals but their get ups are like a uniform . There is another type of anti that I've noticed "the mad cat lady" these very vocal bitches sometimes have a malnourished aneimic husband in tow . These poor husbands who are in dire need of a good roast dinner are dragged around town centres erecting pasting tables and handing out leaflets and sometimes shouting abuse at hunts , need
  18. That's it , your knackerd now , it's a slippery slope . Today series linking spring watch , tomorrow mung beans for dinner , juggling on a unicycle , and getting the pasting table out on Saturday morning . In short id say your f- cked .
  19. Got to get um air guns , I remember mine a BSA meteor , I must have fired thousands of pellets out of that, then I graduated to a HW80 then a feinwerkbau sport . I ate and slept those Guns .
  20. They are a different breed to the kids of today . I worry for this generation of kids brought up on junk food , fizzy pop and video games . Poor diet and a lack of exercise and no real interests . They are all as soft as shite .
  21. I lived on hippie sites for 15 + years man ,lived in everything from a horse drawn open lot to a double deker bus and my avator pic is of of me at stonehenge in the 90's .Had lurchers and terriers, ferrets etc the whole time and it always makes me laugh that half my mates are anti's and the other half hunters, but never had any rows or silly issues from either side about it.......................man I bet you can juggle and eat fire !
  22. you cheeky bar steward ! There's nothing wrong with me mate , go and ask my psychiatrist or my mental health professional !
  23. Here is a 10 point guide to help you spot the tell tail signs that you might be becoming an anti . 1) you wake up in the morning and think f-ck it I ain't going to work today . 2) you look in the mirror and think , you know what would look really good on me would be purple hair and my nose pierced and some great big tribal ear rings ! 3) you throw your soap straight in the bin . 4)you chuck your realtree and your Harkila kit in a big tub and tie dye it . 5) you end every sentence with the word "man" 6) your mates ring you up to ask if you are going for a pint and you reply "no man I've j
  24. As an interesting social experiment I'd like to put Bill oddball , Brian May , Paul Mc Cartny and the rest of the great unwashed on an island with all the bunnys they can hug and see how long it takes them to starve to death ? Just a thought , the kind of thing that goes through my mind when I'm bored .
