It seems this guy is everywhere at the moment . I turned radio 2 on yesterday Jeremy Vine and he was on spouting off about "blasting birds for so called sport " . And today he is on the news protesting about the badger cull . Let's not forget that this is a guy who's contribution to society is The Funky gibbon , and along with his public school chums took the piss out of the working class with crap like Ecky Thump . Do what I do when you see or hear the self righteous prick and reach for the off button .

I know you've succumb to pear pressure what with all the females doing it so if you feel the need to do it again remember you've got friends on Thl were here for ya ?From now on I'm going to be like the kids from Grange hill and "just say no"

I wouldn't worry about it mate , i mean It was only a one time thing , you was experimenting it ain't as if you're an addict and got to have you're dirty fix every night lol so no need to feel dirty and ashamed ?.

I live in a house full of women who watch it all the time , one day I decided to grow a pair and banned it from being put on . I got that much grief and it caused that much upset , that I relented . It's a lonely life exiled to the kitchen .

No ! I feel dirty and ashamed .

I watched it last night and felt disgusted with myself for sitting through it . I watched Gary Busey a seventy year old man with brain damage and quite obvious mental health problems having the piss taken out of him by morons . It seems that we haven't progressed from seeking entertainment from freak shows , public executions , throwing turnips at the village idiot in the stocks and dancing bears . You only have to watch that smug b--tard Simon Cowel humiliating the simple the dilusional and sub normal contestants on the X factor to see that I am right . I want anyone who enjoys this sh-t to t

Willow can be good but does really well on wet ground , I'm guessing that the wood in question might be on high ground if it's showing driven birds , they could take a while to establish , just a thought . Laurel is good and cheap , if you have some on the shoot already or know someone who has some , cuttings can be taken and they establish very easily , but grow quite slowly . If you are in a bit of a hurry I'd go for conifers . -
A mate of mine tried a beagle cross in his pack , and it was a great worker , the trouble was that it did take a line well , but on game rich ground was a real pain , he was dragging the rest of the pack well ahead before we had hunted what was near us . The other problem he had was that it was noisy in the kennel which did not make him popular with the neighbours . But we did have some cracking sport with him .

Short term round bales , long term think low level trees , Christmas trees , laurel , snowberry , that sort of thing . -
I don't think you should be too hung up on size to the shoulder , just if you can get your mitts around its ribs . My local hunt terrier man breeds a line that are quite leggy but easily spannable and I think that is what is so important .

I remember the Warrener having some fox paste that was made with Scent glands and I think urine . As I remember it was fermented in some way . I am thinking of making some and want to know how you go about it , can't think how to do it without it just rotting , I am sure someone on here will point me in the right direction . Thanks

I was given a small Russell dog a couple of years ago by some lads who loved their bushing . They couldn't stop him going to ground which for them was a problem because the ground they worked had a lot of public around . He can get anywhere fast , has an excellent nose , doesn't mess about , if there is nothing at home he won't enter . In short a very useful dog . I went to a hunt show a few weeks ago , the Russell class was very well attended , but the size of them ! My dog was tiny by comparison , the other dogs were like donkeys , huge . How the hell they can work fox is beyond me , my dog

England Frampton Gamefair
shovel leaner replied to barney007's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
I go every year , they have sorted the traffic last year because it was bad with long delays . I also agree that there are few hunting or shooting trade stands , the terriers and lurcher show isn't well attended either . But I go and take the mrs and kids and they enjoy it lots of stuff for them , typical arena displays , falconry , cavalry , steam engines that sort of thing . CLA it ain't , but it's a cross between a village fete and country show but if the weather is good it's enjoyable for the family , but don't go expecting to stock up on hunting gear . -
Meindle are great boots but you have to look after them , they are comfy straight out of the box . I use URAD Jo Jo available from Arther Carter , it's a wax waterproofer that conditions the leather and my boots are still going strong . If you want a pair of boots which can take all the punishment you can give them check out Haix , I just keep the meindle for shoot days .

Hi let's shoot , just read the thread and lots of good advice out there . First of all there is nothing wrong with the rifle , I shoot one with very good accuracy . I would recommend just checking that the wood around the barrel is not touching as this can effect the harmonics when shooting , and it can be done by sliding paper between the barrel and fore end . If that's ok , then get yourself to a competent gunsmith or your local gun dealer and get him to sort you out . I can recommend a secondhand schmit and bender 6x42 with warne mounts and sako 50 gr game heads this will give you a light e

The girls done good for someone with minimal talent . I hope she has a bit of happiness now , she deserves it . You have to work hard and have the skin of a rhino in show biz . Everyone is out to build you up and knock you down again . And as for her ring of course she's going to spend loads , if she went to Elizabeth Duke we would all be saying tight c..t .

Hi , got some game feed for sale , I tag some extra bags on to my order for a small shoot , but this year they have called it a day . Got about 40 25kg bags , will split . Pm me for details . Cheers

Dan , Dont want to be a spoil sport , but the stock aint going to make it shoot better . put all the money you can afford into the best scope you can get , try to look for a second hand scmidt or a swarovski or similar . Unless money is no object in which case whatever floats your boat . -
The guys im talking about dont beat up every dog they train , and a lot of dogs go through their hands , just the hard ones . There was a dog called Badger court moss a while ago who was an amazing hunting dog . His owner could not get him steady enough for the top flight . He went to a top trialer , and with his training methods got him under control . He had to be very firm with him . That dog won the championship and sired countless field trial champions .
