  1. Great pictures Mark, a reminder of your salad days...
  2. Yes, I can feel your pain there, I’ve thought about that as well. My Brocock Contour Elite .22 manages eighty shots and it’s only a tiddler. If anything, smaller than an ultra I reckon? I think shot count is about fifty for the ultra??
  3. Nice one. I’ve been thinking about a .25 ultra. As for pellets, the .25 superdomes hit so hard even a sub 12 ft lbs. the penetration is amazing for such a relatively slow moving projectile.
  4. Did you have to order the r10 phill? Being as it’s .25 cal fella.
  5. I love my hornet. Does everything that the hmr does plus a lot more, for me anyway.
  6. I bought a box of federal classic hv hollowpoints to try, mainly because they were only four quid. Well, they were as accurate as any hollowpoints I’ve used. Just goes to show it’s worth trying a box because you might get lucky. One thing about .22 rimfire, you can give them a try, if they’re crap in your gun it won’t break the bank. I’ve tried all sorts over the years, from B.B. caps, and shorts to yellow jackets, stingers, xpediters etc.
  7. Must have a good shot count at sub twelve with a barrel that long in .25. Have you tried rws superdome 31 grain. They hit harder than you’d believe, even at twelve ft lbs.
  8. A great bag that,well done.
  9. Good shooting Nathan, I’ve got a 99 myself. Nice little rifle for the money and sweet to shoot.
  10. Good shooting, the sport is a classic. One of my favourites.
  11. It depends if they suit your barrel. The rws z lang are accurate enough to hit a 45mm metal disc at 70 yards from my Anschutz. They run at about 47-48 ft lbs out of the 14 inch barrel. Other barrels, they may not suit. The only way to find out is to try them. The same rifle is terrible with cci segmented, where other rifles work well with these.
  12. Is it the ASI .177 repeater? If so, they were designed to use wadcutters in the tubular magazine.
  13. First time out on the ducks this season for me.
  14. I’ve shot a large rat with my Webley senior .22, I was sat in my truck and the rat was just a few yards away on an embankment. Hit it at the back of the head low down and it went with a shudder. Also shot a pigeon many years ago with the Webley. It took off, flew around in a circle and fell at my feet, dead as a dodo. That shot hit the bird in the breast and entered the heart/lung area. Testing the same pistol on a dead squirrel, I found that I could strike three hits on its head at about ten yards, but the pellets had merely stuck in its scalp, not breaking the skull. Probably would have kill
