Still my Cuntry lads and it will be till the day I die. When the sun is shining I can't think of any where in the world I'd rather be.

I like the idea of this x. What size did they all make and do you think they would of been more bramble friendly using a smaller Bull terrier?
-
Might be ok, but probably won't.

A bit of talk about being "self sufficient" that's a lot harder than you think. You always need money and if you've got lots of time on your hands you need a fair bit.

Even living the dream cam become boring from time to time. I think it may be time to start dreaming about something else

I bet it smells ripe in there -
thats the sort of price i was thinking, £50-70 is good money for a lamp if it lasts and is what you want, then its a small price to pay. perhaps a couple of quid more even. it would be interesting to see what price d Lloyd can come up with just to see how much we are getting ripped of by deben and lightforce. If it had all the trimmings, I'd be happy to pay £70 and more for a decent warranty and for it to be serviceable. The dimmer on that Led Lenser is well usable for lamping.

You can get led's with 5 or more shades of white, natural white has a yellow tinge something like a halogen. Led's come in loads of colours, would be the boll@cks if you could change the led's or even have all the colours in the lamp! The price is going up lads All the colours; red, green, orange?

It's not only the wattage its the way its delivered. It's some thing to do with the drivers, it's a micro chip business. Now I'm getting out of my depth I'm sure you electronic geeks at the manufacturers will know. The leading led's for sheer power is XHP 70, that can put out over 3600 lms and the led with the throw (beam) is XHP 35 and that can give you 2500 lms. There are many other led's on the market, but these seem to have edge on performance and are in some of the newest torches. There are torches out there that put out over 16000 lms . I'm not sure how you would approach the manufac

Feck Deben, it's "Lloydy Lamps" all the way Joking aside, I like Deben and their customer service, but they have never asked me what I want and they certainly ain't come on here asking the end user what they want.

There you go Tomo, some light reading for ya. http://www.cree.com/led-components/products/xlamp-leds

90 minutes is some lamping though wouldn't you agree? 90 mins is an ok nights lamping, but I can be lamping for a lot longer than that if there's no game about. What ever the outcome I'm excited about the new lamp. As long as it's got a flipable filter, dimmer and a 800m + beam

XHP 70 led's use approx 32 watts of power. This is the most powerful single led on the market. Not to say Lloyd will use this but it give you an idea.
-
It's all about led's. I am "fairly" up on the technology of batteries and led's and a powerful led does 4 18650's in about 90 mins. That'll mean a lot of batteries for some people and a separate charger. Unless Lloyd can get the charging done in the lamp, but that wouldn't give you any spares.
-
But why would you want a 22 amp/hour battery with an led lamp? You wouldn't. I never said you would? Why would you want a cable and external battery pack with an LED lamp in 2017? If you use a high powered led you need big batteries and they are heavy.
-
The battery won't be big. The only way to get a longer beam is to increase the power, it's not rocket science and for that you need a bigger battery bank. Gaz's idea is good, with the replaceable batteries, but even that is a ball ache.
-
But why would you want a 22 amp/hour battery with an led lamp?
-
well yeh we could,,,,,BUT,,i think the hole purpose of your endeavour is to produce an all in one lamp,,,,,,if you start adding battery packs ,,,you might as well go back to veriouse lightforce lamps,,, Not at all. You will have a much more efficient lamp with a better stronger beam and all the need features. I'm excited for the new lamp and well done Lloyd for getting it together.
-
To get the beam/power and longevity. You will need bigger batteries if you are gonna get a more powerful led. You would probably get away with a small battery pack, may be around 4 amp/hour or less. I know it's not what most need to hear, as it is an extra cost. But it will make the lamp a lot lighter and less prone to break when you drop it. Also if your lamp is attached to you via a cord you're less likely to leave it somewhere
-
Won't need one with a dimmer.
-
I'm not sure what the 150 is Tomo. But if you're looking for range/power, the led will be zapping the juice.

To Vax Or Not To Vax
leegreen replied to Neobliviscaris1776's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Yes you should. Responsibility is why. If your dog gets something, you owe it to others to not spread diseases. You can't be vaccinated against Malaria. Most people vaccinate their pups, usually one time only. -
If made correctly, with led's you shouldn't need a massive reflector. I still think that if yo want the lamp to last a long time, the power pack should be separate, otherwise the lamp will be heavy. Here are a couple of torches that hold three or four 18650 batteries, same size as in a vape, etc. These torches only last an hour or so on full beam.
