  1. That wasn't smartness, it were the truth. If your lucky enough to get that amount of game and your dogs not catching them as you want at the age of three, then you have the wrong dog mate. Anyway 300 rabbits is good haul, well done for that. And if my dog took 1-2 minutes to catch a rabbit, my tally would be about 0.
  2. Yes, there are some people who are totally devoted to Beardie lurchers and wouldn't have anything else. There are some good hard working lines out there, and they're not just rabbit dogs. they're just not the sort of people who come on forums. Though there is a good little forum: Collie Curs. I don't know if it is now a closed forum or not, but its certainly not open to every idiot with a lurcher That counts me out then . I actually meant working collies not lurchers, for shepherding and the like.
  3. Does anyone actually work Beardies any more? All the working collies I know, which is not a great deal, are Borders.
  4. Caught 300 or so rabbits this year and your worried about him picking up. What do you want him to pick them up with his fecking paws

  8. I have Turkeys every year. Usually about 25-30 Norfolk Bronzes. As said not as easy as Chickens, but saying that what is? I rear mine on lots of grass, they love new grass. I live next to an orchard so come August there are plenty wind fall apples which also save me a lot of money. They also like soft fruits, Plums, Cherry's and Strawberry's are available. They love Nettles, which I move them to. Most of there diet is natural food, this is the biggest part of their husbandry and this involves moving them regularly. The biggest problem I have is the buggers trying to roost, they constantly esc
  9. I would think brown rice is better. Why don't you use a little biscuit? I assume this is to compliment a meat and bone diet.
  10. Did you hit the rabbit? And what round were you using?
  11. "This wasn't done for sport, it was done for food" well that's alright then . No really it was a bit thoughtless leaving all that where it can be seen. Someone may not have realised they left them out in the open when it was dark
  12. Cut in half, I would call them beds not kennels and they do sweat. What way do you cut them in half?
  13. That's because most lurcher and terrier people can't read and write proper. You've only got to look at some of the posts on here .

Not all homes have, Gaelic in them !!Some Families let it die out,NOW the OFFSPRING want to Claim back what WAS STOLEN by the MISGUIDED BRITISH EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENT,it is what makes us British our REGIONAL DIFFERANCES, be it WELSH ,MANX or CORNISH. 20. I get what your saying and i think i have stopped it a couple of times before it has started, But the 3 fights that they have had in the last 2 weeks have just happened out of the blue and i dont really know what has started it. The lurcher seems to get jelous if i stroke her and the staff comes over, but i dont really know the best way to stop this apart from telling her off and not paying either of them any attention for a while. Then i play with them together. Neil It's really hard to give you advice without seeing what's happening. I can tell you one thing for sure, if a fight is about t
  21. Now they have started you'll have a problem. You need to keep an eye on them and nip it in the bud as soon as it starts. You need to be able to read the signs and stop it before it happens, because once it does your too late.
  22. I've not had broken ribs but I've had fractured cartilage a couple of times (which apparently is more common) playing rugby and also with a motor bike accident. I can tell you it's very painful, it makes breathing, moving, laughing, coughing, sneezing, shagging and pretty much anything to do with moving difficult.
