I must apologize. I always find myself skip reading things and sometimes I fail to spot important facts as Skycat so rightly points out. Like "his leg wobbling all over the place" and the vet saying "he needs a another opinion on the hock" very good points and one's that need taking note of.
Saying that if the hock truly has a "hairline fracture" I don't see a problem in your dog making a full recovery, given proper grub and rest.
Good luck.
I have here a BSA Mercury with Simmons 4 x 32 scope (no mounts I'm afraid) and some pellets.
My son has been using it, but he has now taken a fancy to my Rapid 17 .
I will take £40 without scope.
It has a repaired stock, this doesn't affect the use one bit. It has no movement on the barrel and is powerful enough to kill rabbits at 30-40yrds if you can hit them , great for a bit of ferret food .
Perfect for a starter gun as it doesn't matter if it gets knocked about, maybe for supervised shooting for the children, teach them a bit of gun safety.
West Kent area.
Try before you buy.
I use snares for rabbits and I keep fowl and live stock. If I caught a fox cub in a rabbit snare I wouldn't like it but I would be pleased. Would I show it on here.....no. Would I even tell anyone on here, no. Would it bother me to see such a thing, NO.
I must say to anyone involved in pest control or gamekeeping which the snaring, trapping & pest control sub forum covers, it is interesting.
Just had home reared lamb burgers, made with a little mint, salt and pepper. Cooked over proper charcoal, with oak chippings for flavour. In a bun with red onions, sweet ripe tomatoes, lettuce, sliced jerkins and a bit of Heinz 57.
Lovely!
