  1. probably a matter of habitat for the fallow, as they are well spread and common through most of the country, but don't do so well if there isn't much woodland. muntjac are spreading everywhere, and will be with you sooner or later i have no doubt. chinese are a bit more specialised and really need wide open arable, marsh or fenland. considering the original escapees were from woburn, they have filled much of this habitat in the east of england, but wont spread to wooded areas and dont do well where there is livestock rather than arable.

  6. I've been having a rummage through my storeroom and have found a killgerm motion sensor camera which i was given a couple of years ago. i've never used it although the previous owner used it just a couple of times. its virtually as new, still in original packaging. i will pay postage. can't find a link to the exact model, but pretty much the same as this one. http://www.killgerm.com/onlinecatalogue/motion-sensor-camera battery pack, charger, all leads and instructions. probably more goodies in the storeroom somewhere, just need to find time to uncover them before the auction!!

absolutely unbelievable! i like the bit where the rspca lawyer says "i hardly ever end up going to court" - thats because they threaten old, vulnerable and poor people with court action, knowing they will be too scared or too broke to go through with it!!
  8. funnily enough i always struggled with the mk1 but find the mk3 a piece of cake. never used bells though, but i can understand how they might be useful
  9. saw that cock miliband on tv and his witchy friend harman, saying "its a protest vote", "what this result really means..." "what the voters are trying to say is>>" etc etc and then just making up some bullshit excuses to try and make themselves look better. so fecking arrogant, they even know what we think more than we do ourselves. the truth is that we are sick of being told what to do by unelected, overpaid twats in brussels. ffs, who wants kinnock, mandelson and all the rest in any kind of position of authority. at least the tories have agreed to a referendum, but anybody w

  17. i remember this story in the standard a few years ago: at london zoo some of the enclosures have a deep water moat round them, apparently they have loads of carp in of various types and sizes. well the poles came over the fence one night, pulled the drains, and took all the carp off in bins. but far worse for me is this tale: old boy on blackheath just outside greenwich park had 4 or 5 donkeys that used to give kids rides in the summer. fella been doing it for years. stabled them a couple of miles away at charlton. well he went up his stable yard one morning, found hey had all had their
  18. why not put the buckets onto a plastic (or otherwise waterproof) shelf ? you could use something with a lip round it and a drain hole so the excess liquid is caught on the shelf and runs out through the hole? a pipe from the hole could lead out of the box, you then wouldnt need to worry about waterproofing your sack (so to speak!). is there not a better heat source than an electric blanket?

a royal charter can be revoked by an act of parliament or by the sovereign
  20. i've never owned a 3/4 but have seen plenty working over the years. some take a lot to the greyhound, and burn out a bit as well as having some of the other greyhound faults (bit frail, bit dim). others come out like a big fast half-cross (more to the collie) and these can be superb, bright biddable and run all day, all the qualities you want from a half cross but with a touch more top end speed. i have seen one or two 3/4 bitches which really were fragile and whippety looking, not my cup of tea at all, and some dogs which must have been 28 tts and very solid. you pays yer money and you takes
  21. yeah i would agree, leave them until the jill is strong and active enough for a bit of rough and tumble
  22. sperm can live in the "upstream" part of the reproductive tubes for several weeks in humans following a vasectomy, so i would guess that this is probably similar in ferrets and other mammals. so if you didnt wait long enough after the operation then your hob may have bred them. also, if you judging expected birth date by the first day of introduction then yes 8 days does seem a long time, but they could have been mated any time after running them together. hope you dont end up with loads of kits to rehome mate, good luck!
