they did the rape round here at end of july, last year it was still standing mid september. most of the wheat is done now, few fields of barley still standing but when its been too wet for cutting theyve been harrowing instead, so a lot of the stubble is gone, leaving good running land

thanks for the update. has an interesting shape and conformation (judging by the photo), would be fascinating to see how it went on a hare

take it or leave it. i'd leave it................ -
met that bill oddie once, he is one of the rudest, most arrogant people i have ever come across. nothing to do with his animal rights bollocks, just his horrible, pompous up-himself personality. he was with that packham at the time, and they are peas in a pod, reckon they were sitting in some little room together telling each other how great they are and how they know everything, and probably wanking over pictures of fecking newts or caterpillars or something

the question "how did we get here", why is it so important? as far as i'm concerned, the question has no bearing on my life. what is important is how we behave now that we are here! and that stands true whether you are religious or not.

its the norm for pups to overshoot mate. but if its half lab it will soon cotton on to whats happening. i worked a collie grey X lab bitch and she was a good allrounderWould've thought the lab makes her clever, and obedient... But she's stubborn af! Most lab's are fat and greedy, no her she'd rather play with a tug rope then have a handful of treats hahaam not being funny or nothing but the only running dog in the mix is wippet if ye want a fast type dog for rabbits get rid and start again before you bond with the dog She's faster then a rabbit so she'll do. No slower then mates bull xs and t

lots of variables (breeding, how much work it gets, what age its started etc) but for me, i would suggest most running dogs reach their physical peak at 3 and may stay near that level until 6. should still be useful until 8 or 9 with any luck, and even after that age a lot of dogs still have a bit left in them if they have been properly managed throughou ttheir life. an all round mooching/ferreting/lamping cur dog has a lot to learn, and as casso says may not really reach its full potential till 4 or 5, but should stay useful for longer

dy, i may have missed this along the way, but have they actually tried to charge you with anything, or is this all just about the feckers refusing to return the dogs, and the damage your animals have undergone whilst under their "care"?

Thinking Of Keeping My Lurcher Out Full Time
beast replied to Foxi_Roxi's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
mine are outside throughout the day, in the garden if we are home but if nobody is here they are securely locked in their run. when the kids go to bed they come indoors. not because i try to keep the kids away from the dogs (i dont!) but the cottage is tiny and kids and dogs (and the wife!) were just falling over each other! also kids get dogs in bad habits at times 9feeding them, giving them toys to chew etc). if youre going to leave an adult dog in kennels which isnt used to it, some will settle easily but some become restless and noisey. start these by giving them a good run, then put t -
sounds to me as though you overloaded the tank too early, i would have started with 3-4, then added another 3-4 each week or two. just my opinion! there are lots of pretty shoaling fish which will make a lovely show, i always liked a dozen or so harlequins for example, but after a few years of keeping a community tank i got into breeding cichlids and kilifish, the kilifish especially were quite a challenge. ended up with about 10 tanks of various sizes, running at different temps and letting some of them dry out to mimic african dry seasons to stimulate breeding etc and etc. fascinating ho

remember Mad Max 2? "To understand who he was, you have to go back to another time when the world was powered by the black fuel and the deserts sprouted great cities of pipe and steel. Gone now swept away. For reasons long forgotten, two mighty warrior tribes went to war and touched off a blaze which engulfed them all. Without fuel they were nothing. They'd built a house of straw. The thundering machines sputtered and stopped. Their leaders talked and talked and talked but nothing could stem the avalanche. Their world crumbled the cities exploded. A whirlwind of looting a f

dont know why supposed christians bang on about the 10 commandments? they were the original contract laid down for the jews in the torah (same book as the old testament) so if you live by the 10 commandments then you are effectively following the jewish religion. the new testament lays down, as the name suggests, a different deal (god sent his only son to seal this, as the old deal wasnt working!) with only two laws: love god, and love thy neighbour as thy love thyself. a true christian, whilst acknowledging them, does not live by the 10 commandments, but follows the new testament. or am i m

Mixing Raw With Kibble
beast replied to lurcherman 887's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
i have long heard the rumour that flesh mixed with dry feed causes bloat etc. i have never met or even heard directly of anybody who has experienced this problem, and to be honest if a dog develops bloat it was probably going to happen anyway, no matter what it was fed. there is no reasoning behind the idea that mixing the two types is harmful, as far as i am concerned -
that would be michael martin murphey who did the original. lots of people have covered it, hoyt axton did pretty well.
