  1. do you use the muskrats for mink food ? i feed rats to my ferrets when the dogs kill them kill them and they do well on that diet, but didnt know if you manage your mink differently (i understand you do rather more formal training than we do with ferrets)
  2. i wouldnt worry about a pup being a bit chubby, much healthier han a skinny pup. that dog doesnt look fat anyway, looks spot on. just be a bit careful of overexercising a pup, they dont know when to stop and can cause long term damage if given too much exercise on a regular basis too young. good luck with thepup
  3. if i was the daughter i would want the dad dead for letting that c**t in the house

Now that must of been a real fluke as the quality of American bulldogs in the UK in the last 15yrs has gone from bad to worse and when was the last time anyone saw a great dance with decent conformation. oh you are right for sure, this was just a fluke from some backyard breeder nothing special must have been about 17-18 years ago. but he was a superb animal, jet black and looked like an oversized corso. i remember seeing some ealry litters of ABDs maybe 20 years ago, and most of the breeding stock looked pretty reasonable (i drove up to manchester to see a neo with my mate and the bloke h
  5. whenn my grandmother died from pancreatic cancer, she really just starved to death as she couldnt digest food. totally untreatable, totally incurable. we watched the poor woman fade away too weak to even lift a finger let alone take her own life over the course of many weeks. dont talk about being a coward for wanting to end this torment, talk abpout being a coward if somebody you love wants you to help end their suffering but you refuse. what would you have done francie (with all respect) if your poor mother had asked for help to end her suffering? disrespect her wishes, or be too scare o

some very interesting comments here, thanks folks. i have been around a few mastiffs, mates of mine have kept bodeaux, neapolitans and a cane corso over the years, and the only dog of this type which i have ever seen which had any kind of decent conformation or gait was a dane x american bulldog owned by my younger brother, fecking enormous great thing but stunning to look at and good temperament
  7. i have watched friends and family fade away horribly with cancer and other diseases, and i don't want to go through that. i support anybodys right to a digniified pain free end on their own terms.
  8. some dogs are just greedy, others fussy. neither of these is a concern, but what worries me a bit with your dog is that this behaviour has changed suddenly especially at that age. one thing could be if the period when she was left with your dad he changed her feeding regime, maybe fed with another dog which tried to steal her food or something but could also be caused by illness, for example some hormonal issues can affect appetite or possibly certain cancers or diabetes (is she drinking more than usual?). i am not trying to worry you and i'm sure she is fine, but worth getting some blo
  9. keep the pup in its crate at all times except when you are givng your total attention. when you take her out, she goes straight in the garden and you stay there watching UNTIL SHE PISSES. Evry time. doesnt matter if you wait for 10 hours, you have to just do it. then you can bring her indoors. watch her and if she looks like shes going to piss just pick her up and take her out, no scolding or shouting as lugworm says. , she will probably stop pissing but you just need to wait again. if you need to take your eyes off her for any reason then back in the crate. if she is always pissing in the sam

my oldest brother has had rottweillers for many years, and recently lost one of his old boys. he has decided to go for something a bit different, and has been talking to claymore kennels about booking a boerboel pup. anyone had any experience of the breed, or this particular kennel? are they anything like rottweillers or do they need different handling thanks

  12. RIP Jock. respects to his family, I'm sure they will have many great memories of such a character
  13. from the behaviour of your bird, i would suggest either spar or gos; rule out buzzard harrier or kite, realisitically. one thing which you might find helpful is that goshawk tend to have much slower wing beats, whereas spars flap quite quickly and seem really mobile in the air http://www.birdwatch.co.uk/categories/articleitem.asp?item=744 this is a pretty good article.

  17. when my youngest cousin was about 16 i opened the front door to find a black lad standing there waiting for her (she lived with us for a bit). it was not because he was black , but because he very insolently looked me up and down, spat on the floor and said "where is she then?" didnt even have the courtesy to say my cousins name, let alone say hello or introduce himself. rude litlle f****r got grabbed by the throat and told not to come back. he never did. i straight away told my cousin and she was shocked by his behaviour and very pleased that i had corrected him
