just think, there are deluded fools who will still vote labour!!
  9. put up the link for facebook page please. not too far from me so will keep my eyes open
  10. The Tiger is more dangerous and unpredictable than a Lion, probably because the Lion is a pack animal. trouble is, when one lion attacked all the others would join in due to their pack instinct, whereas if a tiger attacked the others would just sit and watch
  11. the only thing i would add, is dont overdo the retrieve, just a few times a day, some pups will get sick of it otherwise and just stop retrieving. best of luck with the pup
  12. the late clyde beatty, generally considered to be the finest big cat trainer in circuses ever, began his career with bears. he gave up because he said they were 100 times more dangerous than lions or tigers, very difficult to predict their behaviour and you couldnt bluff or scare them like you can with big cats. but he said the punbters didnt realise this and thought they were just big and cuddly. he said working cats gave him a lot more prestige and status with far less danger. if you come across any of his autobiographies they are a good read
  13. that first guy got out alive apparently and they didnt have to kill the bear, just darted it I'm not sure if this poor chap was so lucky
  14. does cushty come from little-hampton?
  15. 10 for me, of which 5 were guesses
  16. good article. i stopped allowing pups to be fussed or even spoken to by strangers over 20 years ago, i dont want pups that run off to evryone they see in the hope of getting stroked. i have even resorted to having friends with water pistols and "setting up" pups which were particularly stranger-focussed. and these days whilst i let pups meet strange dogs on the lead and have a sniff, i dont allow the off-lead mad running around, except witholder dogs of mine which i know will come straight to me when called, so pup doesnt learn bad habits like ignoring me in order to go and play. but i do like

    Please Help

yep, you need to put the lamp at one end of the kennel and set it up so the pups can crawl away if they want. if they are still with the dam they shouldnt really need extra heat at this time of year
  19. pups NEED to bite and mouth each other, adult dogs and people, and this sublimates as they mature. to tell a pup not to bite you is like telling a toddler not to try to walk. i always have a little toy in my pocket and let the pup have a chew on that if he wants to, while i hold the other end. mouthing in an adult dog is not always dominance related, in fact there is a whole pattern of dominance behaviour of which biting is one small aspect, and if a person hasnt been able to read all the other signs before reaching the bite then they really shouldnt have a dog. skycat is right, highl

    Scat Id?

hard to see the size, how big is it? and are you sure its a turd rather than a pellet from a bird (owl or something?)
  21. never seen one of this cross, but i used to know an old boy who had a deer/whippet in the 70s and he said it was one of the best all rounders he ever saw; however when he took a litter off a greyhound bitch there were some tiny weedy little things and one giant in the litter.
  22. fury will get a bloody good hiding
  23. my dad was a merchant seaman for mny years. these parakeets were often bought in indian markets and brought back by the sailors, maybe ten to twenty on every ship. as they sailed up the thames, they would watch out for customs boats, which would do random searches on ships; if they pulled alongside your ship, all the silors with birds would run below decks and release the birds through the portholes to avoid having them seized and therefore having to pay import tax quarantine fees or similar char.ges
