Very nice John good stems on them leeks and them onions look good better than my marbles and you got the cleanest chickens in town
The wife frowned on my chicken idea so that's dead in the water for the time being lol
In two minds about main crop spuds next year now bought a bag at the week end for a fiver at the local market. Desiree and a cracking spud. Might just do earlies and some sharp express
Might be better off using the extra space for fruit maybe
Nice couple of hours up the plot this morning get out the way of stroppy teen agers
Decided to collect leaves going to mulch me black currants with a good foot or two keep the grass at bay
going to do the same with the new raspberry bed
broad beans are starting to sturdy up a bit and keep up right
really need to turn over the compost heap next time I feel energetic
Nearly called out the Fell and Moorland to get this bugger out the ground. Turned out it had forked in the end but it was a big fork
few pics
makes me cringe like a picture that came up on facebook the other day of a pile of skinned dogs some apparently still alive, heart breaking. Nothing wrong with killing things to eat but at least be humane about it
quite some thing and over her some people have a panic attack at a dog chasing a hare . If you started hacking a cows head off probably get shot. The difference in cultures and beliefs is pretty amazing
I find it very a interesting topic. My pup is as keen as mustard with a lot of drive so the thought of getting him to put the brakes on when he knows there's some thing in front of him should be good.
But he is on sick at the mo so during his rehab will be an ideal time to get a handle on him. I am aiming for next winter hopefully
I notice the folks who do train off the lead do it across the board with all the dogs so I guess its doable with any hound with time
I fancy getting my pup to work off the lead I have given my self to next year to do it. Bit of a challenge for me self. After hearing how well others train there dogs I hope to do the same my self. I guess the more control the more pleasurable the experience
Mine used to be in a hutch in the shed with the dogs lose but the dogs had known them since pups so I had no worry. What works well at home now if the ferrets are in the back yard and the dogs the house so every time they go out for a piddle they see the ferrets so get used to them. I only have a cocker and lurcher pup now a days but it made getting the pup used to them easy. He did used to try get a bit playful to start but just ignores them now
trying to pinch bit chicken off the ferret
old pic of a little patterdale i had years ago
on the other side of the coin I had a lakeland
My terrier would kill mink and he had a wild polecat once but he was perfect with the ferrets. I guess it all depends on the dog maybe some terriers can be a bit trigger happy lol
mmm when i was single I used to run up a tab and hand over me wages on a monday night to the landlord and start again. Was on tidy money at the time too .
You know things are bad when you can walk into any local and they give you tab no questions. Luckily I met the wife and now don't drink
Yes Terry had a great crop for a decent period of time should have put some pics on with fruit on. Just net up well as the birds love them. Nice jar of red cabbage.
Yea I thought you would get a good crop off that lot My neighbouring plots are full of them but they just let them fall on the floor or the birds get them such a waste.
Raspberry canes came today off ebay but from few miles up the road
10 x Raspberry Canes 'Sugana' Bareroot Primocane Very Large Fruit
12 x Raspberry Canes 'Octavia' Bareroot Summer Fruiting Large Berries
Popped them all in a big pot of compost till I get them up the plot on Sunday. Plan to give them dam good mulching of leaves to keep the weeds out.
I see you had a cracking patch of canes John in one of the posts did you get a good crop ?
Would be nice to get a good crop of them bloody silly prices in tesco
Knocked up some pickled red cabbage tonight too. Cover in salt over nigh
