  7. Fingers crossed for you gafer I agree right pain keeping a pup still
  8. 27 hours bloody heart of a lion some of these terriers amazes me how they physically do it
  9. Don't miss an opportunity even if you can't get permission keep an eye open for sheep road side and just walk on the verge or even a gateway in a hedge if there sheep there it all help. Some sheep are very flighty and go like hell when they see your dog so try not to disturb them at the moment then others don't seem so fussed. Also hand reared lambs are handy as they come up to you and the dog. Going by me experience last year try and make sure the dog is a 110% before you finally put it to the test so hopefully it won't fail.
  10. They must fall in the same laws as cctv if you fit a camera in your back yard you have to make sure it's not covering your neighbours land etc
  11. I know a couple of people who have been out on the beer and thrown one punch and spent 6 months or more behind bars for it, One fella had a broke jaw the other fell and cracked his nut so for the sake of a bit of bravado is it worth it. Unless you or your family are at risk. I never used to think like that unfortunately when I was a young pee head
  12. ditto I used to take mine out with a couple of lads who had there big lamping dogs and she certainly did her share if I used me head and picked her runs. Was quite comical her stood along side there 25 inch muscle bound hounds and her tiny little scruff arse looking mongrel lol. Such a convenient size nice and inconspicuous pop her in the foot well of the car or lob her over a tricky fence or squeeze under. Pop under the arm if needed for what ever reason. Didn't no she was in the house
  13. I wouldn't worry about a few inches my self having a nice little portable dog has its own benefits
  14. It's astonishing what one person can do to another beggars belief
  15. Down side I see to that auto spade is it doesn turn it over which is a handy thing to do if you have a bit of a weedy patch
  16. Very true I was chuffed to get a few decent heads of calabrese made my day. Planted my onion seeds today not started getting the bed ready yet as its to wet to get on the ground. made that mistake last year working on it when it was too wet and turned it to compacted iron
  17. Kids no there too young for police to do much and they run rings round the parents so pretty untouchable and the little sods no it. No stranger is likely to lay a finger on the either cause his feet wont touch the floor and they know that too. Had some last year walking through the allotments kicking stuff over and throwing things about. The main culprit was a little skinny short sod really horrible little git. I just pretended not to see him because if I wound them they would just come back and yank all me crops out. I just wanted to stick a blue barrel over him and sit on it for an hour
  18. Even the best parents some time can't keep a grip on there kids. This is where the government need to give the police more clout and maybe get the little sods doing community services for 6 months picking up litter
  19. get it licking a bit of cod liver oil or some thing while you handle it
  20. its on my todo preview looked good
  21. Not me just dropped few bags of manure off and I got a small bit of weed suppressant on order for me onion bed. Still lots of crops in at the moment too. Leeks, parsnips, swede, sprouts and purple sprouting. Need to turn over the compost heaps and weed the strawberry beds and weed in general. Too wet to get on there at the moment though
  22. Just stunning thats the life for sure
  23. I used to have a tiny beddy x whippet that was great on the lamp in the smaller fields and short runs and I had a lurcher x lurcher 24-25 inch that was also great on lamp but more suited to the longer runs and bigger fields. They all have there uses and areas of expertise. I would be more than happy to have either laying on the carpet in front of me now
  24. Don't rule out a bushing type like some of the dogs in the bushing section depending on your ground and needs. Bit more robust if your just after a marker helper . Get some thing thats a bit over sized for going to ground as well maybe. Just a thought
  25. People are the same with my pup his only 10 months old and he wants to say hi to every one so I have to hold him back until he I can calm him down a bit. last thing people want is a 25 inch pudding jumping all over them. But they don't know his just friendly the big lump and he likes to park his arse on things
