  1. Very interesting great to see what goes on else where. Wild turkey I wouldn't complain at them for sure. Not sure about catching your own ferret though lol. Ferreting with a touchy ferret is never much fun. But I guess they have plenty of work in them
  2. great pictures germhound and boy could do with ground like that in this neck of the woods
  3. The best ferreting dog to me is a terrier type that can get in any cover hold a line until the rabbit goes to ground. Fair enough it wont have the speed to catch bolters that slip the net or what once they get going but it will track it to ground again so you can have another go. With a dog like that you won't miss much and just a couple of rabbits can provide a good bit of sport. I have had one like that and it was rare he would lose a line
  4. will give that soup a try jok. Shell are hopefully a slug deterrent as I only get up there at weekends this time of year so don't get pellets down
  5. Very handy them leek and potato a doddle chunky or smooth
  6. Yea I use my soup maker chuck it in and 20 minutes done very handy nice too as you say. Best sprouts so far this year nice tight and round very tasty too. No idea of the variety though which is typical broad beans are up and away few pickings also had carrots and the raspberries are still coming
  7. Can't really complain at that. Bet you will be one sneaky fella after that lol
  8. Have to give that a try especially if it keeps me going to catch that lot
  9. Brilliant news dan bet your happy fella
  10. My dog seems to have not long stopped growing his made 26 inch in the end I was ready for him to stop about 20 would have done me lol
  11. Lamping tends to be all or nothing and what you think might be an easy run could end up in a marathon up and down the hedge. Mine had his first at 7 months and at the back of mind it didn't feel right and then he had an accident anyway so never got the chance to go again for a while anyway. Saw a picture yesterday on facebook of an xray showing the gap between the bones on the front leg of a couple of months pup and a 12 month old as a comparison and after seeing that you can see how you have to be careful. Next time round if there is one I wont start lamping till about a year and stick to
  12. then you be behind bars you won't beat the system by going all chuck norris lol
  13. wouldn't say he was the worst but definitely the most interesting. My uncle he was big bloke and all ways on the wrong end or the right end depending on your take of a bottle of whisky. He was pretty red before he started but luminous by the time we finished lol. He used to enjoy it though
  14. Sorry to hear that very sad but as least it was quick and not drawn out.Small consolation I know for you
  15. what is your most favored lamp ??????? I have used practically all that's ever been commercially available. But I guess there's never been a perfect lamp yet. There sure is a market for one. I have used the Striker (170) more than any other i would imagine, but I also have always had to do a bit of DIY on the lamps as, out of the box, they are pretty crap. The wiring is a disgrace. The Deben lamps are at least as bad, if not worse., and I've never rated Deben stuff anyway if I'm honest. As of late if I'm going out for a few runs then the Clu-lite PLR 500 is the prefered weapon of choice.
  16. Does some one not have to want to pursue it like the land owner ? regardless I would get kissing any slight edge be better than doing nothing.
  17. very true well worth a shot that. I would eat a bloody big humble pie to get mine back. Offer help out any thing
  18. well you got them there for a start surely
  19. All ways hear mention of that solicitor clive rees on here for field sports issues ? Must be a sickener for you and I wouldn't waste a second getting the ball rolling fingers crossed you get it back. On another note bit puzzled why people go on keepered land who job it is or part of to catch folks you are really upping the anti. Not like some old farmer who see a light on his land and thinks sod that its a just a local after a rabbit as long as he hasn't had grief and goes back to sleep
  20. I would say there is no need to involve a dog and complicate things. Though I could understand why if you have a nice steady dog and just like spending time with it you might be tempted. I guess banting the field you may miss a squatter or two but that's not really a bad thing
  21. Only ordered lamp yesterday lunch time, Ian hodge fields ports, and it's just arrived, on charge, may let the kids have a couple slips later on, see what they think to it, but I'm impressed, just need an amber filter for it now lol did you get this one http://tinyurl.com/o6lxnal
