Yes great quality and a sound fella (I look forward to my free lead )

My neighbour had a cat 15 years plus that died a while back. They were really attached. It would have been shameful if my dog had ever got hold of it. I am trying hard to get him used to them but at the moment its a no. Your average cat wouldn't realise what was coming his way until its too late so needs sorting asap

In hind site which is a wonderful thing I do wish mine had never seen a rabbit until he was 12 months instead of about 4 lol. I was worried he might not hunt

Yea I remember your post now. Glad the dog is on the mend. As tc said mine was very similar and he is tip top now. But even after 4 - 5 months he would for no reason throw the leg out. But I held him back and started him back up gently and he is now 100% and you would never know I had to be so bloody careful though he would seem fine then the smallest thing would put him back. So take your time and patience now will pay off. That's what people kept telling me and they were right and I am glad I took the advice. Good luck and fingers crossed for you and dog

I tried the old walk away from mine on lamp after about two fields and a bit of cat and mouse. I stop he stops type thing he came with in a couple of yards. Tried a second time again walked nearly back to the car lol and he was by my side put the lamp on and his stood there big grin and no rabbit. So I knocked that on the head because all it did was teach him to avoid me. All I do now is march up to and take the rabbit with as little fuss as possible. He used to walk of with them ten fifteen yards when he first started with the initial excitement then as he caught more the novelty started to f

crikey bet they are fiddly to work on

he will one day mind the fact he came towards me is progress. Baby steps lol. But watching him blast full steam across the foot high stubble and nail the rabbit in rutted brambly marsh bit did me for now I can see why coursing was so popular now watching a dog full stride in day time most impressive

Mine is very rough around the edges but I am constantly on him and refuse to let him run wild when we out. I don't mind him working ahead and his getting steady. But if he starts galloping about a bit wild I stick him on a lead and get a handle on him. Again this grabbing netted rabbits thats a personal preference I did toy with the idea I of having him not touch them but to be honest I love knowing that he will nab the netted rabbit and I can stand back instead of having to plough in the black thorn lol. He will get there a lot quicker than me. He was initially a bit heavy with them but as

Dog only needs to keep one person happy and that is the owner. I couldn't be more happy with mine now and he doesn't retrieve at 20 months that is not to say he wont in the future. There is no dead line I have to meet lol. He gives 110% work wise I couldn't ask for more really and I like him lol

cobblers if your and the dog are happy who cares

Well I have been swapping mine around in there cages so they take turns in with the hob and letting them have a run around together. The old jill has been piling into the young one at every chance but the last couple of days the tables have turned and the young one has held her own and the old girl has backed off and they are all in together now. Might get the odd squabble but as long as there's no harm done I reckon they will be fine now and leave them to it

good thread here http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/274510-cheap-lithium-battery/

to be honest it was never a priority for me all ways other things I needed to do. Also he has all ways been possessive over stuff which I am now getting past as he catches more and its going well. So before I could even think about him bringing stuff back I had to get him willing to give it to me at all with out being daft lol. But gently gently catchy monkey oh and his 20 months I think now but this is for another thread

apparently they are the same as the ones that come out of laptop batteries and you can join them together but you need to know what your doing. In work my mate has been dismantling the laptop batteries and I have a torch here that uses them they are not aa batteries though http://www.instructables.com/id/Big-Lithium-Ion-Battery-Pack-190-Watt-Hours/

Yes interesting to see peoples ideas. Not sure of your options either really. if a dog is hard mouthed not much you can do other than get rid which I couldn't do my self. I was expecting mine to be a cruncher but lamped rabbits now nine times out of ten he just drops on the floor alive and kicking and stands over them. Netted ones he does tend to leather a bit but getting better as we go on and I am pretty sure he will just pin them in time. He doesn't retrieve at the moment and though it would been nice I don't lose any sleep over it and it may come yet. Also if the front is bruised you can s

Just got to wonder about quality though is it like the laptop power supplies that last a few weeks. Then 30 quid works out not so cheap. Tempting mind

One thing I did notice is it holds the moisture so when your waiting to get on the ground in the spring it needs a bit longer to dry out -
Easier to catch bass lol Never had much luck with cod. Lost a lot of lead mind trying

Well after our very enjoyable ferreting this morning I decided to take him for walk in the sun and have a relaxing wander no training or working. But as all ways this fella is never off duty and he marked a rabbit in the cover Thick old stingers but he started to edge in and I was just about to sacrifice me self and go in for him when the rabbit made the silly mistake of making a break for it and heading for the far hedge. They both went full blast over the maze stubble which had me cringing because the same field did his leg in last year. But nearly 12 months on his joints c

Yea I know Allan funny old spot. Could see 3 sat there watching us and they hopped in holes. But when you stood on top in the slippery mud its seems a lot higher lol. Dog is doing well still a work in progress but I enjoying our outings learning to work together. Very happy with him

Bit toasty yesterday morning had 2 layers on and a babour was sweating like mad. Went to my little quarry but the rabbits know me well now and go and sit on the cliff side or go in the holes on the edge where we can't get them. It is not that high but wouldn't do the dog or me much good going over. Luckly he marked one to ground on the easy side and we had him. Another rabbit for the young jill. The dog is starting to be a pleasure to be around now and calming down a bit. Even the other day he bolted across a field to the other side and thought you sod but it turned out super honker had winded

Some cracking dogs above ideal ferreting partners But for some reason I ended up with this pudding but even though a little busher would have been better for ferreting I new it would only get out weekends but at least with this fella it opens up other options on the lamp so he can get out during the week as well
