  1. They can be traced back 400 years Thats how old you feel when you finally get off the phone.
  2. Not all use them but a lot do I think. Mortons walkers in Ireland make about the best walkers but they dont do a single. It may take you a while to get your dog used to one but they will do a dog good, but has said drag lure would be better for sprinters. You can never leave a dog un supervised on a treadmill/walker,bad things can happen, and make sure dog has emptied before going on. 10 mins to start is plenty.Dont forget they are continuous.
  3. Why cant you receive messages?
  4. Too many people breed from mediocre bitches. Regards colliex and fox I started out with colliexs and never had a good one on fox. I had a lad come out one night whos hancock dog eventually had a grab at the arse end of a fox my dog was destroying at the time. The lad got very excited and went round telling everyone his dog did fox. It would not look at one on its own,but was offered at stud because it was a good fox dog.
  5. Both would be better as whippet/greyhound crosses instead of just whippet, just for pace alone. A good Beddyx will take some beating and a good Bullx is the one to do it.
  6. See they got the dogs colouring. Not too many for her to rear anyway.
  7. a lot of pups are ruined by people who try too hard. dont mess with dogs head teaching it tricks and what people call formal training. The main thing for any young running dog is having the freedom to move and learn to run. All you have to do is take it out for walks. Watch you dont over tax it or get it cold and wet while its so young though. Ive had whippets and been out with them and they are great dogs, even the little shivery ones with bulging eyes are still game for it if exposed to it. good luck anyway mate.
  8. Hes a very nice old boy whos probably forgot more than most know on here (no offence)and in retirement hes earning a few quid selling show dogs.Whats wrong with that. Last time I spoke to him he was laughing about the long legged things in the show ring being too tall for work but the misses looked like she had an agenda of her own...crufts glory..at any price. Good luck Eddy.
  9. probably worst season for the ground and you need a dog with engine to plough through the pudding, but the winds have been good this year.
  10. is this Steve Ellis that used to live near wakefield?
  11. Theres a lot of shite beddy crosses about atm I think mainly due to them being the in cross again the past few years and selling on internet like aldis baked beans. Whenever a breed or crossbreed is in vogue watchout for the crap being peddled for beer money.
  12. Do you mean the dog didnt catch or was not able to close the gap between himself and the rabbit? The slowest half cross Ive ever seen was a lightly built collie greyhound but I wouldnt judge all collie/greys on that performance. I could only judge that particular dog.i mean I don't think it would catch anything unless lucky mate. Soon as the rabbit got up on its toes it pulled away dramatically lol I know they ain't rabbit dogs, but shouldn't be like that for a lurcher.Lightly built collie grey, those collie greys are crap...I just so happen to have a light built collie grey myself lol Im

  14. Ive only had one this way bred but it depends on the bull family it comes from. Some very good bulls are built like whippets with big heads. My bitch was very very clever with a very good nose and very agile when bushing. She caught a rabbit first time out lamping...she gave us a lot of pleasure and some good pups. Very trainable but not wise to kennel with a mate when she matured in case an argument broke out. She was around 23"
  15. They WERE great sport for dogs. The Bullxs love them. The good thing is you can have a good hunt in cover and a good run in open and it never ends up miles away with them. It takes a strongish dog to handle a good buck aswell....theyre not for whippets anyway. Your Alsation cross should do ok with them (if the law changes) and they usually have good noses dont they?the alsations or german shepards.
  16. Its a very serious situation mate, but it sounds like happy shopper sweepings to me.Why not go down the twinings route.I did and never looked back.
  17. Thats why they put the GF there but they taste best of all.
  18. The thing that stands out for me about AJ is his bullshit after the Dhillon fight in interview and his total refusal to ever admit or apologise for hitting after the bell which he does in virtually every fight he has. Its funny how before that fight he was going to clean up Britain but now all his fans suddenly want to hold him back for 18 months. I watched Mansour v Breazeale the other night and wondered how Joshua would have fared in that kind of battle? Like many others in britain I got a glimse of the bullshit behind AJ the night with Dhillion Whyte..
  19. he sounds a good pup,how is he bred,do you know?
  20. well done mate, good healthy meat for free.
  21. How much roughly do you allow for each dog if you are using it with meat in place of biscuit or brown bread?
  22. good luck with them mate.If it were my litter I would be looking hard to pick out the whippet feet and avoid the flats if theres any in there showing. there will be flats because of the bull of course and if not careful could spoil a nice little strain in the future if you dont weed them out. Trouble is they dont always show until the pups a bit older.Thats why now i try to hang on to as many pups as i can for as long as i need to and cull wastage. best of luck and i hope it goes well,it could be a good foundation that.
  23. Thanks very much for the replies. Ive got a few things to try now.
  24. The pee doesnt look dark and shes no discomfort passing it. Ive had dogs with that before but not bitches, but yeah its worth considering.
