    If dehydration goes too far and especially coupled with overheating it can and often end in death or the dog being ruined for work. Dogs get acidosis when run unfit and loose muscle mass in a very short time,going from a well built dog to a skeleton overnight. as already said its conditioning that counts and the handler knowing when to stop.Weather makes a lot of difference because dogs overheat in mild or warm weather.     As max says,do it for the fun of seeing your dog run and if its a honest dog that tries it should win now and again. There is nothing worse than owning a dog that has the race won but then changes down a gear to wait for its mates to catch up,so it can run alongside. A good Greyhound is a very jealous dog that wants to get to the front,and not just run in the pack.

    I always use panicur on the bitch carrying the pups from 40+weeks and that way she doesnt pass them on through feed,but I do agree that the liquid and doing it over 3 days becomes a pain in the arse with pups every two weeks.

    Google Bull-x lure machines. they are not cheap but very good quality.

    you are describing my first dog that i had when i was about 7 or 8 and he died when i was sixteen. He looked like a collie crossed with a mongrel. He would only of weighed 35lb but he loved killing things.Mostly cats but his real passion was fighting other dogs which he did whenever he could,no matter what size or shape he would attack without warning.I did a lot of obedience with him and my biggest achievment with him was getting him to stand from the stay position (lying down) from a distance.Thats not easy.     To me a dog that has spewed proper but then goes on to keep hold of his foxes is always in danger of reverting back to type one day in a difficult position,when things get tough. The best dogs are the ones that dont need to find courage because they are born to enjoy it.

    You need to be careful not to overdo Cod liver oil as it can block the liver.A teaspoon every day or other. Biotin is also good for hair/skin which is in white of egg.
