  1. This might be an off the shelf gun, but he self loads. If he shoots at the same target with factory ammo is he gonna get the same results?. What they like with factory ammo?, don't wonna' self load.
  2. AA S410. Bought it second hand 5 years ago . Shoot rabbits out to 50 yards no problem, never gone wrong. It likes AA Field Diablos, some people say they are crap but i have never had a problem with them, using a new tin at the moment. Use a stirrup pump, not a problem, and got a Mamba Lite on it, sweet ass scope.
  3. Thats what I've got mounted on my HW100, certainly ticks all the boxes in my opinion. Agree, it's all you need.
  4. I have one on my HMR. It's small and light but i have tried mods that cost way less than the £120 the LEI cost, and i can't say i noticed much, if any, difference. I just like the small design of it.
  5. As it says above. Are they any good?. Talking to a bloke today in the gun shop and he was saying that they are hit and miss. Some people buy them and they are good out the box with the right ammo, and he had another guy buy one who ended up getting rid of it because no matter what he tried to put through it it just didn't group well. I'm thinking if they are that hit and miss no one would even bother with them. He recons that to be sure of a good 204 you got to have a Remington with self loaded rounds. Anyone got any thoughts on this?.
  6. Got 2 CZ's. They both came with 'crappy triggers'. Put trigger kits on them, which just about everybody does, at a cost of £12 each, and now they have lovely fluffy light triggers that yer Granny would be proud of!.
  7. It's a Miroku MK70 How long have you had it?
  8. I bought a 'trail cam' off of Ebay. Put it up in front of my squirrel feeder to see if i could get an idea of how many, and what time, the squirrels were coming to the feeder. Put it up at 11.30pm and had a look at it at 5.30 pm next day. I had capyured 189 video clips. What surprised me was that there was only one clip of a squirrel. The rest showed shit loads of rats, some very large, and mice from 11.32pm till 6.22 am, and from 12.19pm till 4.47, sort of every half hour(ish), magpies and jays. Came back late today but thought i would go and sit in the hide by the feeder just in case. Got th
  9. Mamba Lite. Changing the Hawke on my S410 for a Mamba Lite because i like the one on my CZ 452 so much.
  10. Been living where we are now for 10 years and in all that time i have never seeen, or heard a single Jay. About 3 months ago i started to hear them and now we have loads of them. There were 6 gathered in one spot in the corner of the field next to our place on Friday night when i got home. I tried to sneak up on them but no chance, they are just as crafty as Magpies. Hs anyone else noticed an increase in Jays?, or does any one have a special technique for dealing with them?.
  11. Had another one last Saturday and two more on the Sunday. Been a week this Sunday and not seen one squirrel around anywhere. Looks like the birds nests might not get such a bashing next spring at this rate. We had lots of birds nests in the hedges, my wife spots them, and they all lost their eggs to squirrels or corvids. You could see the broken shells by the nests or on the floor next to the hedges. I have noticed a hell of a lot of Jays around our area this year, they have been coming to the feeder as well so might get some of them.
  12. I haggle over EVERY thing. Don't let them think you're too interested when you look at it, do lots of ummming and arring, If they won't knock off any money ask what you're gonna' get for free. A CZ 452, in .22, is between £400 and £450 (ish) depending on whether you have the silhouett or the American. Add a cheap scope, like a Mamba Lite, and a SAK Mod, and you could be looking at around £600-£650. If it DOES shoot OK, and the scope and Mod are Ok, then it sounds like a good deal......but i would still try and get a couple of boxes of rounds for free if they won't knock a bit off. At the end o
  13. When i did mine i used a drill bit that was small enough to push the pins right out. Be firm but not agressive. The pins are on the tight side coming out, but i don't remember them being loose going back in, you still need to tap them home. I didn't use super glue, nut lock or any thing like that, and they haven't ever come loose. If you do use a drill bit wear some googles. Drill bits are hard but very brittle, if it does break and splinter you wouldn't want to be getting it fly in your eye.
  14. Agree, Mamba Lite is a spot on scope. I use it on my CZ 452. Got it to put my night vision on because it has a side para and shit hot optics. Not only would you save shed loads of cash, it's plenty good enough for an air rifle, might get another one for my AA S410 as the Hawke niteeye, i got the old style, has a front para. I prefer the reticle as well.
  15. Archer Starlight N/V will only fit on a scope.
  16. As far as i know people like 'KillGerm', 'SX Environmental' and other pestcontrol supply companies will only sell Ficam D and Ficam W to those that can quote their BPCA certificate numberl. This stops the general public from getting their hands on it.
  17. Got 2 CZ 452's. .22lr is 20'' without the SAK MOD and the 17hmr is 22.5'' without the LEI MOD. I'm left handed and that's the only lengths that they come in. Even though they are very long i can't say it's ever given me any trouble, and they are both extremely accurate. I was going to get them cut down, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  18. I walk out of the backof my house straight into a 3 acre field, over to the the gate and it's 40(ish) yards to another of our fields. I still put whatever gun I'm carrying in a roll up slip. It's a very quiet counyrt lane. But it only takes one holiday maker to come around the corner and '' Oh.....my....god!, a nutter in camouflage carrying a GUN!!!!!, QUICK, CALL THE POLICE!!!!!!'', next thing you know you're down on the floor with the armed response unit shouting a you. I know that's a worst case senario, but that's the way you got to look at it. You can never be too careful when it comes to
  19. Buy the NiteSite 50. If you then find you do a lot of night shooting, and enjoy it, go for a Archer Starlight with the Firefly IR. That's what i got. It cost, a couple of years a go, £1667 all in. Can't fault it. Batteries last for ages, unlike some N'V set ups that eat them. You can use it as a spotting monocular, when you see your target you just slip it on the back of the scope and away you go!. It comes with a butt extender so your eye is not too close to the unit, and it still feels, and looks, natural to use. I have the Pulsar N550 as well and that never gets a look in now. I know it's g
  20. There was a post on here a week or so ago on the same subject. Go back to page 3, might be 4 if there are some new topics by the time you read this, and you'll read about the Baikal and the Mossberg pump :-)
  21. Google 'The Wychwood Project'. Click on 'Woodland Management', then on ' Suppliers of Local Wood'. Should be able to help, if not they can probably tell you who can.
  22. How did you decoy them?. Not long got my SX3 and wouldn't mind having a go at crow/jackdows.
