  1. If I'm out in the middle of nowhere shooting with the night vision i don't bother, but if I'm using the lamp on a caravan park or on fields which back on to houses i just pop into the Police station and let them know. It just covers your ass and shows 'due diligence'. I know i don't have to, but i might be glad i did one day. Never underestimate the ability of the general public to suddenly go into ''JESUS CHRIST,HE'S GOT A GUUUUUN......CALL THE POLICE!!!'' mode at the drop of a hat.
  2. 22lr £4.50 for 50. 17HMR £14.50 for 50. Depending on where you get them, might be a bit cheaper or expensive. 22lr £4.50 for 50=9p/rabbit.... 17HMR £14.50 for 50=29p/rabbit..... Reading on here the other day that some places are selling HMR for £12 for 50. Think I'll phone around next time and see if it's possible to find them some where else cheaper. Usually get the from Sportsman Gun Center aka Southern Counties in Exeter.
  3. Mine was free. Phone Julian, I'm sure he'll just send you one. Happy customers keep coming back!.

  5. I spray all my guns down with Napier Gun Cleaner. I spray it inside the gun cabinet as well because it has the VP90 in it that stops rust. Also spray the inside of the cases that my night vision is kept in. It keeps every thing looking, and more importantly, working like new. I even drink it......well OK, i don't drink it, but it does smell nice
  6. My wife has a pistol crossbow, and for Christmas a couple of years ago i got her a Barnett Lightning compound crossbow. Bad move....the thing is a pain in the ass. I have to cock the damn thing for her AND go and look for the bloody bolts. Most of the time it sits in the garage collecting dust, which is fine by me. I bought her a 8 shot .177 CO2 powered pistol. That is loads better, i only have to change the CO2 on that, and she's happy shooting at empty cans, and empty cans are easier to get hold of than sofas. The other thing is i can use it to dispatch rabbits I've trapped in me cages
  7. Deer Management Services for competence and safety with rimfire and Centerfire rifles is that not covered in the deer stalker 1 cert? I wanted to get some kind of certification of competence to help me obtain my FAC. I rang up Deer Management Services and asked them if they did any thing like that. I didn't do a full on deer course , just a day with them covering all aspects of rim and center fire. It was well interesting, considering all i had got my hands on up till then was an air rifle, and the FAO liked it. Did it in Somerset just outside Glastonbury near Meare.
  8. I'm working on a pub at the moment just outside Honiton. Went to pick up some stone off a farm for a wall that we're building. Asked them if they had a problem with pests. To cut a long story short, just got the permission for 300 acres of farm land and the farmer's going to see the owners of the land next to his fields as there are shit loads of rabbits coming from there onto his property. He said he lost 40 acres of wheat last year. Farmer was saying how hard it is to find someone to shoot the rabbits, i said that there are loads of people out there who would give there right arm for his lan
  9. Rounds. I only have 22 and 17 rimfire. Thinking about something for fox, but have no idea of the price of 'rounds'. I had a look at a trajectory chart of a 17 Hornet a couple of minutes ago, and it looks good.
  10. I use road marking paint. It comes in a large spray can. You can get it from a builders merchant or hire shops. You can spray it onto wet grass/soil and, as long as you're not right on top of it, people don't take any notice, unlike maskers.

    Help

A while ago i bought a Hawke scope and put it on my AA S410. It worked spot on with no problems. Not long after i got it i went to walk out of my conservatory, and gave the barrel a wack on the glass door which was closed. Didn't break the glass and thought 'that was lucky'. But when i tried to shoot at targets i had the same problem as you describe. I sent my scope back to Hawke explaining exactly what i had done, and far play to them, they got it back to me working perfect with no charge. Have you hit your rifle or scope?, might be the same sort of problem.
  12. Just wondering what people are paying for .204, .223 bullets. And has anyone any ideas how much the new .17 Hornet are going to cost?.
  13. i know it has but i'd like to hear what happened because its a very rare case and it,ll be interesting to see how the police handle it. I agree. If it' is true i would like to know the out come.
  14. I like crunchy peanut butter. It sticks nicely to whatever you want it to. If you are shooting squirrels, that are coming to a bird table, spread some smooth peanut better. Then they will stay there and lick it, as they can't run off with it, this gives you time to shoot them.
  15. When i did my B.P.C.A it was four and a half days tuition, Monday to Friday afternoon, and the Exam was in the afternoon on the Friday. If you revise after each day, and don't go out on the lash, you shouldn't have any problem passing. I hated school and left without any qualifications, yet i found i had no problem with this Exam. One thing you should buy is a 'Killgerm Manual'. It is filled with every thing you need to know.
  16. I wonder if they would replace 10 tins if they all sucked? I think a lot of times it's down to the supplier, i order from BAR and am halfway through my last batch of ten tins WITHOUT any problems. It is also the same with my JSB's, all in .22. The delivery always comes well packaged Who are BAR, and how long ago was your last order. Might just order a couple of tins at first, and keep me fingers crossed.
  17. If you search Firearm Application Somerset, they show you a dummy copy already filled out so you have some idea what to put. For the amount of ammo put 600. Then when you are down to your last 100 you can purchase a whole box of 500, if you live out in the sticks this saves on fuel.
  18. well all i can say is I use a 26inch benelli, for just about everything, absolutely brilliant gun, I personally dont like the dead feeling you get from gas semis, I have used 28grms--- 50grm 3 inch mags in mine recoil not a problem at all,my advice, buy it you wont go wrong mate, whatever you do dont touch the hatstand. FAO told me there is no limit on how many guns you can have on a SGC so i might get both, Hatstand and a Benelli. We were in my kitchen when he told me and my wife was cooking. She heard him and said ''Oh no, don't tell him that!''.
  19. I wonder if they would replace 10 tins if they all sucked?
  20. Holy Crap, well that sucks. I like the old AAF's, but if they have gone down hill that much there is no way I'm buy any more, let alone 10 tins!. Well i have been given lots of choice of other pellets, so I'll have to get myself off to Flebay.
  21. I bought 10 tins of AA .22 Field Diablo about 3ish years ago. I'm nearly out now and after some more. If i get them I'll get another 10 tins. Thing is, I'm sure a while back i read that some people were having problems with them. I don't want to splash out on another 10 tins then find out that they are now shite. Has anyone on here had any quality issues with them. All the tins that i bought them years ago have been fine.
  22. Ive got one of theses on the way i won it for 11 quid its worth a punt at that. i got it to see if i can make a nv spotter with but if i can get the lens out and fix a zoom and focus lens in it might well go on the back of the scope or it might well be a pile of shite!. im going to be adding alot more ir..i will publish my findings on here as i go along. http://www.ebay.co.u...144686750705393 For £11 you got to give it a go, if nothing else it'll keep you occupied for an afternoon. I've been wondering if i could make a set up with a monitor in my pick up, and a camera on the roof wit
  23. On Ebay, search 'dash camera'. You can get a night vision camera with monitor for £23.00!. Takes a memory card as well. Might be shite, don't know, but for £23.00 all in you can chop it about and see if you can come up with some thing that might work.
  24. Them Nite Site people are gonna' be hating you.
