  1. I know some one with a 28g Revo O/U and it's spot on. I had a go with it and thought it was very good for the money.
  2. Don't know about other rifles but CZ 452's are cheaper the longer the barrel/ . Google Sportsman gun centre limited . 22.5” Barrell RH = £365.99 22.5” Barrel LH = £473.99 16” Barrel RH = £423.99 16” Barrel LH = £508.99 342 American HMR. 20” Barrell RH = £385.99 20” Barrel LH = £438.99 16” Barrel RH = £448.99 452American 22LR. Both of mine are left hand and 20''. Can't say i have ever had a problem with length.
  3. I had a ZOS about 5 years ago. As far as i remember it was OK , apart from being very heavy.
  4. I ask 'The Wife', she's pretty spot on.
  5. As long as it's fitted to a sold wall, and out of sight of callers, there should be no problem.
  6. If you are after a 22lr and a HMR just get 2 CZ452's in those calibers, fit 2 trigger kits for sweet trigger action (videos of fitting on Youtube). Buy Winchester 40g Hollow Points for the 22 and Hornady 17g V-Max for the HMR. You could spend more money....but what's the point?. There are people on here that have shot thousands of rabbits with CZ's, and i doubt if they had had expensive rifles it would have made much, if any, difference. It's practice that makes the real difference. I got CZ's,both 452's, both with 20'' barrels.
  7. ...HMR, even with a mod, is going to have a 'CRACK' to it. Another thing is price of rounds, winchester 40g hollow points are £5 for 50, 17g Hornady V-Max are any thing from £11 to £15 for 50.
  8. Like Alsone said 22lr is air rifle quiet where the
  9. On my S410 i got an old Hawke Airmax SR12. Had it for years now and it's fine. On my CZ 452 22LR i have a MTC Mamba Lite and for the money this thing is great. The reason i got the Mamba Lite, this is the cheapest they do, is because the glass works really well with night vision. The Mamba Lite in 4-16x44 is £189, you can get the Mamba, which has added illuminated reticule, in 4-16x50 for £219. The Mamba is the same as the Viper but with low profile turrets. MTC say their scopes can be used on any rifle from air up .50cal. They also come with flip up metal covers .http://www.youtube.com/watch?
  10. Search youtube for '410 Baikal hushpower sound comparison'. Different carts being fired from a Baikal
  11. There is a Bartletts country store just opened up in Bridgwater Somerset, it's at J24 on the M5. I was just on my way up to SGC in Exeter to get some rounds for the HMR when i thought of them. Didn't even know if they sold HMR rounds. Any way, went in and they do, Hornady 17g V-Max £10.96 box of 50. Now i don't know if people can buy them for cheaper but i got half a box with the price tag still on from SGC and they were £14.50. That's a big difference seeing as i bought 500 rounds, saved £35.40!. Eley 22LR subs hollow points are £4.76, the ones i got in the cabinet from SGC say £5.99. Winches
  12. When you put it back in the cabinet do you take the MOD off?. If you take the MOD off and give it a tap you'll see loads of , what looks like, unspent powder. If you rub this between your fingers it's all gritty. If you're putting the rifle back in the cabinet barrel up with the MOD still on, it could fall back down the barrel.
  13. I got a Bakail 410 with a hushpower on it and it's really nice and quiet with Eley Fourlong12.5g No. 6 carts. I can even shoot magpies and rats that are on the bird table out of my bathroom window , i live in a bungalow, and the missis doesn't mind. She went ape shit when i used the SX3, that's why i got the 410.
  14. I have an LEI MOD fitted to my HMR. It can't be taken apart for cleaning so i give it a good hard tapping, both ends, and you should see the crap that comes out. If I'm shooting with the HMR i always keep the barrel facing to the floor so as to stop any crap falling back down the barrel.
  15. Have you got a really good tight 'face fit' on the stock?. When your cheek is up against the stock can you see straight down the scope or do you have to lift your head?. I had the same problem, never really happy with the HMR's zero, and it was 'face fit'. Packed it out so now the cheek is nice and tight and i look straight down the barrel. Getting an inch groups, give or take, at 100yrds.
  16. Only ever use one prior to cleaning. If it was going to do any damage by pulling crap through the barrel, then the bullet head would do way more as that travels a hell of a lot faster and is a way more tighter fit. I see it as a big boot lace with a bit of brush built in.
  17. A much clearer picture on the Archer with the Night Master 800. Plus you don't get any , what i call, water mark issues like you do with the Firefly laser, you know those annoying circles that the Firefly projects out.
  18. I always think there are 2 reasons why some thing is 'second hand'. 1, the last owner wanted an upgrade. 2, there was some thing wrong with it that could not be fixed, might only be some thing slight that you don't notice until you get to know the rifle. Think of second hand as 50/50 gamble. Personally i don't like to gamble.
  19. Just done it, it was a piece of piss. Just click '1' for all of them.
  20. I bought a Winchester SX3 in July last year. I've put about 400 cartridges through it so far and have never cleaned it. I never clean my Bakial Hush power 410, CZ 452 .22LR or my AirArms S410 22 air rifle. I never clean any thing apart from the HMR. I use carb out, wipe out patch out and accelerator on my CZ 452 HMR but only when the groups start to get too big. I spray and wipe all the guns down with Napier oil, the stuff with the VP90 in it. I read what other people do and think am i being a lazy so and so, but then, if it works why bother cleaning it?.
  21. Do you mean a cabinet that you unlock, then situated inside the cabinet, at the top, there is a seperate compartment that also has a lock?. If it is then yes, that's OK. I have one the same, mine's made by Brattonsound.
  22. Any one can carry out a risk assessment as long as they are competent. Check out the HSE's 'Five Steps to Risk Assessment'.
  23. Google 'Basic Risk Assessment Form for Shooting'. Click on the top one, Countryside Aliance, then scroll right to the bottom. They have a good example of a shooting R/A..
  24. When you carry out a Risk Assessment you are assessing what risks there may be, and in doing so you are then reducing the chance of having an accident because you are then aware of these risks. If there is uneven ground they would love it if you were to point this out ' Corner of field could be a trip hazard due to uneven ground', If there is a boggy area you could put 'Area by gate a slip hazard due to boggy/wet ground'. It's all waaaaay over the top, but this is the way things are going. The trick is to be more red tape than them. If you go on the HSE site you can see a risk assessment form.
  25. If you Google Somerset Gun Accessories you'll see the SGA site. Bloke who runs it is called Steve. He's very knowledgeable and I think he fits seals. If not I'm sure he could tell you who does.
