  1. Are you a member of BASC?. If not i would join. You get 10 million pounds of public and product liability insurance, and if you ever need good advice they are just on the end of the phone. Plus it sounds more proffesional if you mention all the above if the Cops call.
  2. The only way you're gonig to kill a pigeon with that Mercury, is if you hit it over the head with it.
  3. They're a bit different, but both very good. Don't stress about it too much, which ever one you get you're going to be more than happy with. I praise the SX3 cause that's what i got. If i had bought a Benelli i would be praising that up. Try and handle both and get whichever feels the most comfortable......like trousers.
  4. Don't forget gun safe ! and 6 month probation at gun club then 3 month wait for a variation for vermin shooting to be added to FAC. After you have permision. Pellets £13(ish) for 500. 22lr rounds £50 for 500.
  5. I had to wait 3 months for my SGC. When i spoke to the FAO he said they had a hell of a back log of paper work.
  6. Yep, agree with you, SX3. Check out the topic, a couple of lines down on this forum, titled SX3.
  7. All I've put through it so far is 28g 8, 29g 6 and 30g 6. Haven't had any trouble with any of them. I looked around a lot before buying the SX3 and I can't say i have heard any complaints about jamming and not cycling.

  9. I bought a SX3 composite, 28'' barrel on 7.7.12 and it's great!. I been out shooting squirrels, crows and jackdows, no magpies yet, crafty buggers. Even bought a clay thrower from Molevalley Farmers. This is the first shot gun i have ever owned and before i bought it i was thinking do i buy this one, or do i buy that one, worrying that whatever o bought might not be for me. Well i got this one from Avalon Guns in Streeet Nr Glastonbury for £850 and i can't fault it. It's light, nothing in the way of kick back, easy to maintain, it even smells nice!,in fact i can't say anything bad about it. If
  10. You can use snares for fox, but they must have 'stops' so they hold the animal and not strangle it.
  11. All they do is have a face to face chat. My FAO had a look around the house to check security and also asked my wife if she was OK with guns being in the house. If everything you have put in the application form was true you have nothing to worry about. Take it as an opportunity to get to know your FAO.
  12. Stirrup pump. It's not that hard and will save on trips filling bottles and the fuel in the car for those trips.
  13. I'm a BPCA pest controller with an FAC for 22lr and 17hmr, also have a SGC. To get an FAC you have to have permission, land, on which you need, or have reason, to use the said caliber of rifle you want. Say you want a 22lr and have permission on which to use a 22lr, and you were granted a FAC for a 22lr. If then a farmer wanted you to go and shoot some rabbits on his land, as part of a pest control contract, before you could shoot those rabbits you would still have to get in touch with your FAO to find out if that land had been passed to shoot on. If it has not the FAO would have to come out
  14. I got both, N550 and Archer. The N550 sits in the spare bedroom and occasionally comes out as a spotting scope. The Archer, with the firefly laser, is the dogs bollocks. Use it on AA S410, CZ452 in22lr and 17hmr. Don't need to mess around with re zeroing, just slip it on the end of the scope and away you go. Iknow they say you can use the N550 in the day, but in reality it's a frustrating picture to look at. I hadn't had the Pulsar long before i felt that it wasn't what i really thought it was going to be. I had convinced myself it was going to be this brilliant bit of kit that would make soot
  15. First shotgun i ever fired was a double barrel. Too much kick, didn't like it. Now have a semi auto and shooting is a joy. See if you can have a go on a semi, bet you'll love it. Some one at work said semi's are for girls, i say 8ollocks, i like the softness plus you get an extra shot :-)
  16. Why have so many people got 'Pump Fear'. Just get a bloody stirrup pump. Job done!.
  17. I would get in touch with customs, just to be on the safe side.
  18. MTC Mamba lite on my .22lr is spot on!. Have the sidewinder 30 on the HMR, it's OK , but one thing that does piss me off is the ocular lock ring. I have to have it wound out a bit and then the adaptor, that the Archer sits over, is too far in. This makes the bolt hit it if it's not seated just right. Plus, make sure you don't turn on the illuminated reticle when the Archers on it, it'll mess it up. Take the batteries out just to be on the safe side.
  19. CZ. Cheap, does what it says on the tin. Just get a trigger kit for it though. They are cheap to buy, easy to fit and make the gun soooo much nicer to shoot. You can buy the kits on Ebay and see them being fitted on Youtube.
  20. I use a Firefly, and it's brilliant.
  21. http://<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.c...yer_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>If you use Barrel traps, aka Duffus traps, you won't have any sign that they are there in the ground. They are the only trap i use. Easy to set, you can some times catch 2 and because they are out of sight there is less chance of they being stolen.
