decided on a trip to my mates [40 miute drive] and after a coffee I went for a mooch & as I approached the brow of a hill I spotted a squirrel heading straight towards me ,I lay down using bipod and when squirrel got to about 25yds I "squeaked" and it stopped in its tracks -pellet hit home and one in the bag . I spotted 6 bunnies feeding on the outside of the woods and crept up to 30-35yds and my next 4 shots saw 4 dead bunnies with bellies face up , I missed my next shot which was an easy one -but im over it lol . I heard a few jays squawking in the wood so I sat down under a big fir tree

I remember a lad I worked with was strimming overgrown embankments and was totally oblivious to this stuff within a few hours his head and neck were like one giant blister and even to this day he has faint scars on him --10-15yrs ago

I don't own lurchers now but back in ,s I did a lot of lamping for foxes and a bit of polystyrene rubbed on car window accounted for loads of Charlie -they say curiosity killed the cat I reckon same applies to charlie

well lads I work 2 together with no probs and remembering my mistakes with the older of the 2 I made sure I was ready to correct any recurrences and I can honestly say the younger of the 2 is a better animal altogether -the only big problem I came up against was the younger dog tried to take game from other dogs mouth but a firm hand and a few weeks training I don't have any bother now -- ps not saying it works for everyone lads

I think from the working point , there's no real reason to x working breed gundogs, as each one will tick the box for hunter = flushing,peg dog, and most retrieve anyway . But being honest ive seen a fair few of these designer type dogs, and what nice temp dogs they were, that cocker poodles and lab x poodles , one of the reasons they choose these type dogs, they wanted clever,nice temp, dog that didn't loose dog hair all over the place, and I think they made good choice .
