  1. As Max has already said it's an NGRC rule that greyhounds must be muzzled in a public place and only applies to NGRC trained dogs. Kay you were in the right your dog was on a lead and stationary, the other dog which was obviously not under control approached you. With this in mind I'm struggling to understand why some of the members are pointing the finger at you.
  2. Good to see youngsters involved in the sport.
  3. Yeah they do look solid pups. How are they bred Lofti and what age are they?
  4. Some good advice there and as Indi' says there's no need to panic, that was a normal reaction for the pup. As Simoman says,go back to basics, get the pup back onto the rabbit skin dummy and when she is 100% with it swap it for a "cold" dead rabbit. You might find she wants to play with it at first or even run off with it,but persevere with it and eventually she'll settle down. When she's retrieving the "cold" rabbit spot on move her onto the next stage which is a "warm" dead rabbit [a freshly killed one], again expect a different reaction, picking it up and throwing it about, maybe even refusin
  5. Well done mate. At least your getting out,it's freezing hard again tonight up here.
  6. It can just happen that stock broke dogs suddenly turn...one of mine did after 2 season running through sheep no probs. Broke him again, and he will not even look at them now Surely you are contradicting yourself in your statement? If he was fine for 2 years then suddenly turned how can you be sure he will not look at them now? Unless he's dead you can never be sure. Because it was done properly the 2nd/3rd/4th/etc time He now helps with the lambing every year

  9. The pup is,- Dam,-Collie/Grey X Beddie/Whippet. Sire,-Saluki/Grey X Saluki/Whippet.
  10. They aren't trees mate, they're gorse bushes. Have a look at the hawthorn tree above the dogs tail,do you see any leaves on it. Anything else you want to know just ask.
  11. So much for it thawing, it froze again last night. Here was me hoping to get back out with my mates lurcher Bob on the lamp and get some rabbits for the freezer, hopefully i'll get him back out soon. Took Peggy a walk up the side of the river this morning and took some pics, the ground certainly isn't suitable to run a dog on. The bits the sun is getting to are thawing but the other bits are still like concrete.
  12. We are not talking .22 i was using .177 AA pellet in a 97k v-mach with a 6-24x50 scope, 2 metres above your having a laugh. What ft/lb was the gun producing Ramcam?

  14. How will the semi finals be drawn LDR? Is it down the card or will it depend on who gets through?
  15. I reckon i'll be about 70 miles away from you, less as the crow flies and it's been flat calm up here and is still freezing hard.No chance of running a dog for me.
  16. I've got two AAS410K's in .22 and .177 calibre.

  18. Great pics, i like the top one , they soon grow my son 22 this week, how is the pup bred.?? Cheers Bird, yes they soon grow. Brodie is the youngest of three boys, the older two are 14 and 11. The pup is,- Dam,-Collie/Grey X Beddie/Whippet. Sire,-Saluki/Grey X Saluki/Whippet.
  19. My youngest son Brodie joined me and the pup yesterday, the cold didn't seem to bother them.
  20. Well done Tomo. You were lucky with the ground conditions as there was no way a dog could be run on the ground here last night,it was rock hard.
  21. Can you explain what you mean??? I don't know what 1st heat you are on about. . . . He's talking about the 1st heat mate, Markbrick V Spep? Can you not remember the stink it caused when the score ended up 9-7, a certain person thought that Mark should have said sorry to spep and let him go through as "you can't go through with a score of 9-7". Funny then that when a couple of the heats had similair scores and this latest one less[2-0] nobody is saying a thing. The silence is deafening, let's just call it the Markbrick factor. I'm in no way having a go at the comp, with the exception
  22. I've had a couple of greyhounds over the years that have pissed their beds.Lowering the ceiling height in the bed area has always worked with them, bear in mind it has to be low enough that they can only crawl in because if they can stand up they will still piss. The last greyhound dog I had that pissed the bed stood 28", I lowered his ceiling to 21" and he still pissed. When I lowered it to 19" that cured him.
