  3. I've always found it more common in terrier and/or whippet crosses.
  4. Had a look out with my mates dog Bob on Friday night,[i work him more than he does]. Tam accompanied me with his air rifle,we were out just over an hour and accounted for 10 rabbits,7 to Bob and 3 for Tam.
  5. I would guess she'd make round about 26".
  6. I fancied a walk out with Bob tonight so gave Jimmy a bell,he couldn't make it as he was going to Tesco's to do the shopping. I was told "take Bob if you want", so I did. One of my mates came out with me and was duly given the rabbit bag to carry.Bob ran well tonight and behaved himself aswell, there was no hunting up after he missed a rabbit, something he has done on his last two trips out. The first rabbit Bob caught he smacked into a fence side on, there was no damage done however and he took the next 5 rabbits on the bounce. He went on to take another four rabbits, so we ended a
  7. no a salmon has a smaller wrist in front of the tail & a seatroot has a thicker wrist thats why you can hand tail a sambo but not a seatroot as will just slip out of your hand Oh, so its a seatrout then!!! Did you hand tail it?
  8. do any of these dogs ever get found/returned??? i read so much of gets getting stolen but little of them coming back..... Chester got his back recently. Hope your mate gets his dogs back spiderpig.
  9. THINK THEY ALREADY HAVE TO HAVE VET AT TRACK{FLAPPING} THEY DO AT ASKERN/HIGHGATE IN YORKS There's no vet in attendance at Gretna samba, there's one "on call" though. Many's the time i've seen a dog getting seriously hurt and having to wait over an hour for the vet to arrive.
  10. You say the pups "nearly 7 months", and you're wondering what to do with him. Is it not obvious mate. I'd have thought that between you and your mate one of you would know that the pups far too young, seemingly not. Let the pup grow mentally and physically,i've seen many a dog wasted by starting them too young. Tell your mate to take a chill pill and concentrate on training the pup untill it's a bit older.
  11. Decided to have a look out early doors tonight before the moon got up. Jimmy took Bob and my mate Tam brought his air rifle. The first field to be lamped was only small, barely an acre in size, the rabbits didn't hang about. They were quickly through the fence and into their buries in the bank behind the fence.Only one rabbit made the mistake of sitting on the bank infront of it's burie and Tam knocked it over with a nice head shot at 30 yards. The next field we walked through runs alongside a disused railway bank which is overgrown with trees and bushes. Tam shot 2 rabbits on this banking an
  12. That's one big salmon rfyl. I don't know what river you caught it in but it would be common to find salmon of that size in the rivers up here in December and even January. I don't think for a minute that it was feeding, more than likely it was on a redd waiting to spawn when your live bait entered it's territory and the salmon just snapped at it to move it on and hooked itself.
  13. Dam,-22" Collie/Greyhound X Bedlington/Whippet. Sire,-26" Salukie/Greyhound X Salikie/Whippet. She's 14 weeks and just short of 18" high at the moment franny,I'll sort some pics out sometime mate.

  16. The dam was,- Bedlington/Whippet X Greyhound. The sire was a mix of,-Greyhound,Bull,Whippet and Collie, but mostly Greyhound.
  17. Well spotted pit, why do lads come on here and tell porkies? It's true what they say about liars, you have to have a good memory to be a good liar. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...ic=71509&hl=
  18. I didn't know there was a proper way AS. I fish the method that the conditions dictate,be it fly, bait or spinning. That way i'm not limiting my opertunitys unlike the fly only purists.
  19. When I got home from the river at 4pm it was blowing a fair bit and it looked likely to be a decent night for a shine.I gave Jimmy a ring to see if he wanted to go for a look with Bob, "eh, aye go on then i'll come round at 7pm", said Jimmy.. I said okay then , see you at 7, maybe he was on a promise and wanted home early. When we arrived at my permission the wind was even stronger and there was a fair bit of rain falling.Bob had 3 runs in the first field and caught the second rabbit so we were off the mark.I decided to enter the second field at the opposite end than I usually enter it,wh

  21. It was my intention to wait and read other replies before I commented as I have read numerous times how good these Lightnings are. There are however no comments. Last summer my mate bought a Lightning Tactical in .177 calibre. We went out to try to zero it and I was amazed by the recoil, the word I kept using at the time was "harsh".It had been a long time since I had last shot a springer but coudn't remember them being as bad [recoil] as that Lightning was. We spent a long time trying to get a grouping but I have to admit it was beyond us.After reading so many glowing reports on this a
