I've never read the Moxon book Wilf so can't comment. I have read "Training Spaniels" and "Gundogs Their Learning Chain" both by Joe Irving and would recommend them for anyone with an interest in dog training be it gundogs,lurchers or whatever.

Had a couple of hours out with the fly rod this afternoon and managed a nice clean 7 pounder.

There are a few about mate,3 weeks ago over 30 were caught on one pool on the DGAA in one day. It's nice to see plenty of fresh fish in the river and in good sizes,biggest off the DGAA today was 19lb and there was a 17lber caught yesterday.

any thing to fix this ? scared the shit out of me. If it is a build up of lactic acid it basically means that the bitch has over exerted herself,make sure she is fit enough to do what you ask her to do.That's the best way to fix it,prevention is better than treatment.

No, I used 4 blackheads mate. They are new to me mate! dont get to fish for salmon, will have to look that one up on the net when I get time, cheers for reply mate. The easiest way i find to get black headed worms is to go into a grass field that has cow pats, take a garden fork with you and stick it into the ground next to a cow pat and start shaking the fork [ wriggling worms] the worms will come out of the ground to be picked up. Some fields work better than others. Here's a pic.

Well in this case Miss B was trolling a dace behind a boat which was being held in station over the "lie" by the boatman. Judge for yourself where the skill was. If memory serves me right the boatman was her father.

I gave Jimmy a ring after tea to see if he wanted to go out for a shine with his dog Bob. He said he couldn't make it but I could take Bob if I wanted. Ah well,8pm saw me and my eldest son Dylan set forth with the waterproofs on. Into the first field and Bob was slipped on a rabbit right away,he missed it then fecked off across the field. You'll can guess what happened next. Feed them raw, bones and all. I gut and skin them then freeze them for a minimum of 21 days then feed them to the dogs. -
Cheers Codie,he's a different dog when his owner's not out with us,when Jimmy's there his recall and general obedience is p!ss poor. He knows who he can feck about with,to be fair to Bob his recall etc was pretty good last night.

I had a walk out with my mate Jimmy's dog Bob tonight,Jimmy was busy elsewhere. Another mate Tam tagged along with his air rifle but to be honest it wasn't the night for a gun as the rabbits weren't hanging around,so any shots Tam had were long ones. We ended up with 8 rabbits in just over an hour, 7 for Bob and 1 for Tam.
