  8. dont have words to describe people like that. keep on doing what your doing keith. your dogs are a credit to you. people like them dont get away with doing things like that forever.
  9. looking good bunny's. cheers trig shes a fiesty bugger. atb bunnys. i noticed her ears are stuck up allready. are they up most the time? sometimes it takes a few months for the ears to stick up like that, even in the pure bred alsations. yeptrig ears are up permanent have been for a few weeks retrieving coming along fine she has some drive fiery little bugger. atb bunnys. be good to hear how your pup turns out. the only gsd lurcher i have seen was a gsdx greyhound x 3/4 grey 1/4 deerhound and he could certainly stop hares on open land.
  10. Ive seen a dog that could stop them on his own but couldnt hold them or wouldnt hold them long and if they turned and dropped there heads he would slow to a halt and there was not a drop of bull blood in him great dog doubled up with a slower weighty anchor dog though did he have bedlington in him?
  11. the saluki lurcher x collie lurchers i had took to it no bother one of them only started at 7 when she began to slow down. just take your time and be patient and i think you will be pleasantly suprised.
  12. a bit late but gundog training by amateurs -richard sharpe. i have never read a decent training lurcher book yet. the training section are just breezed through . with gundog books there is usually advice when things go wrong regarding basic training and retrieving.
  13. nice effort son im 48 and i couldnt make one. good luck for the future with your ferreting.
  14. The dog looks in great condition a credit to you.
  15. enjoyed that blackie good write up. got some good training advice from d.sleight back in the eighties when i first started was very helpful to me.
  16. excellent well done young man.
  17. Thats what i like about the collie cross, they will stick to the job alot better than most. they also seem to figure out what is going on below a lot better. I'm not knock the beddy cross tho, seen some goodens but i think the collie cross suits me better. i like the collie cross a great deal had a few over the years. a good mate had beddy crosses for 30 years and owned a few crackers. as you have said its what suits the individual but for me hand on heart the best ferreting dogs i have seen have been collie crosses.
  18. ive seen a fair few ferreting dogs since the eighties, some very good beddy crosses, but also seen some stand out collie crosses, the concentration level on some of these have been outstanding a joy to watch.
  19. so only 1% of beddys put over whippets/greys and so on have chased a rabbit.
