  5. you wont get a 3/4 greyhound 1/4 bearded collie off hancock. he does not breed them anymore. he does not have 1/2 greyhound 1/2 bearded collie stud dogs these days.
  6. 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie 1987.
  7. seen quite a few 3/4 grey 1/4 collies take hares owned 1. the best i have seen without saluki blood was a 1/2 cross gsd x greyhound cross 3/4 grey 1/4 deerhound back in the 80s a very consistant taker of daytime hares.
  8. get a gundog book much better for basic obedience and retrieving practices. gundog training for amateurs by richard sharp is good in my opinion.these type of books tend to give you advice when things go wrong in training/retrieving practise.there are good lurcher books regarding the starting and different types of hunting with lurchers. The main stumbling block some people find training pups is the retrieve this is were gundog books and their advice ,tips and techniques are good.
  9. seen a fair few go since the 80s. i like the cross.the best 1 i have seen was a greyhound lined by one of j.piggins beddys. a belting ferreting dog and great mooching dog that knocked over daytime hares on occasion. watched it from a pup to retirement always tried its best. a very good dog.very good nose on this dog also took feather regular.
  10. over rated. 2 real world champions exposed him. got kosta tszyu at the right time when he was well past his best. should have been stopped against jon thaxton with a badly cut eye. just did not live the life of a truly dedicated fighter.
  11. i always thought hosker was a yorkshire legend ( was it all in his own mind)
  12. sad news. but on a positive note look at the experience you gaining by owning him, as with everything it is not all plain sailing working animals.you didnt give up when you thought he was a lost cause and through perserverance he came good. good luck for the future ferreting.
  13. look forward to the video if you can upload it. my old mate had beddy lurchers 30 years. i like the crosses from beddys a great deal. real honest dogs. all the ones i have seen tried their hearts out.
  14. Saluki/lurcher cross collie /lurcher. My best ever bitch long gone but never forgotten.
  15. cracking pup best of luck with her.some names on the sires ped with good reputations. i heard snelsons billy was a very good dog many years ago.hope she does well for you.
  16. You don't have to brush it.(obvious)
  17. seen some poor coats on beddy/whippets and some half decent. what does advantage does a whippet have coat wise?
  18. there was a litter born aug 6th. repeat mating. sire oldands beddy dog.
  19. join the working bedlington forum and give oldand a pm. a decent man who could possibly point you in the right direction. good luck with your search.
  20. how is his general obedience and retrieving training coming along.?
  21. cracking write up. the dogs done well. nice to read of johnnys dog making some catches and young joels pup looks to be shaping up nicely. excellent pics also.atb.
  22. my terrier does a breakdance routine when we get home from ferreting. 1/2 a piriton tablet sorts him out if he gets too bad.
  23. ive come home with several mooses in my more frivolous days  they all need a bit of loving.
  24. also if you know any spots where you can see rabbits outside the warrens . walk over when they have dropped in then let the dog check them over. at least you know yourself they are occupied and watch her for giving signs. some dogs marks are much more subtle than others. it is just a question of getting out and letting her gain experience.
