  1. The 2nd best bolter here now kills a fox that refuses to shift, every time.I prefer his sister that does not have the same knack. Its abject stupidity to believe a bolter does not get stuck in more than a digging dog,a dig rescues many a terriers true capability. Not looking for a row morton, but from your last post, why you splitting hairs, when we talk bolting dogs most think of something that wont stay, so if your stays, an bolts, why split hairs asif stayer are ( no good ) I dont understand you at all. When i think of a bolting terrier i think of a mutt that stays at the coal face unti

  3. You must have better eyesight than me then.
  4. Bolters often stay until dug to,its a fallacy put about by digging lads that bolters are never dug to,with a little patience many a dig became a bolt, fact.Bellman collar, better box.
  5. Your not getting grief from this side of the pond mucker and the average terrier bred over here would more than meet your purpose,id source something a tad above average though, good luck.
  6. I won't even try and compete with craic as sharp as that ! Look I don't give a bollocks what anyone does, I have seen enough people kidding themselves on about what they have on The end of a lead. Personally, I have seen 2 decent dogs in my life (and one of them was a specialist ) and know of a couple of others.......you do the maths Algebra was not your lesson of choice.
  7. The only fact with a terrier to ground is we don,t have a fecking clue whats happening the majority of the time.
  8. Find me a litter of terriers bred to bay and bolt.I could own a digging terrier readily around here,id struggle to find a proper terrier.
  9. Why would anybody put a proven dog to a non-proven bitch?.Never breed from such an animal mucker, source a pup from a more honest source and enjoy your dog for what it is.There is never a need to breed when its better not to.
  10. At one time terriers were bred to be work specific,if they were not work specific they were never bred from. Now many a terrier is useful only because of the technology it wears and the owner utilises.I prefer a terrier thats bred to work without the assistance of batteries and one that is safer because of the technology utilised to assist it and not make up for what it lacks. You for real lol.Doubling up dogs is the ultimate sin and reflects on your standards not the dogs .As for having a jibe at mute dogs lacking ,its obvious you know nothing about single handed terrier work .Maybe your experi
  11. A terrier lacking because it can only work fox!,ill have your cast offs.Do you think there isn't something lacking if they'll only work a fox? I could easily live with such a terrier.I didn't slate such a dog. I said they're handy but aren't to breed off or strive towards.I don't think we're reading from the same hymn sheet. Its a while since i took mass.

  13. Care to elaborate mate Its green, grows in fields and cows, horses and sheep eat it.
  14. Ive only got one and id not wish it upon anybody, even a distant cousin with nothing more than dollar enhanced Nuttals etc. They need to get into proper terriers and source a Beddy .

  18. Id not ask our American cousins to put to much faith in Black terriers, the majority of the Black stuff shipped over the pond, apart from the cotton pickers, was third rate and the majority bred over here is no better.
  19. Then you are setting limitations that should not need setting.Id think about the terrain i work and intended quarry,if the terrain is not suited to the type of mutt you seek then its a pointless exercise.Homework first, second and third, then a well bred mutt that is capable of befitting your needs and future needs. We all start off wanting to kill a mouse and a year later want a dog thats capable of killing a bigger mouse,id not source a first dog that i could not live happily with for the next 12 years or more.
  20. The lurcher attracts a mixed bag of scum and scallywags,i can put up with the scum and the scallywags make for interesting company. The dross that pollute OUR rank and file to serve only their feckwit ego,s ive nothing in common with.
  21. If a Beddy can tackle a coon it would be a piss poor quarry for a Lakey .
  22. You just need a terrier suited to fox work, now the majority of terriers are bred better suited to a shovel,a locating collar and a quick and expedient release clause in its breeding.
  23. There are Bedlingtons and then there are other Bedlingtons. In over 30 years ive never lost terriers entering as pairs and have purposely entered them at times, ive lost my share of individuals entering. The main things to take into consideration, know the lie of the land and know your charges and how they work, alone or together. hi can i ask why you would enter two dogs to ground is there something to be gained by this, personally i think it causes more problems than it cures. At times it happens as a result of the terriers bushing ahead of you,at other times ive extracted a fox or many more
