  1. The bitch i have now is possibly one of the strangest and most peculiar of animals, when she was born and her markings followed her Great Grandmothers,a first cross Collie cur,i possibly knew what was to come. She will work and graft to a decent enough standard until she,s in new company or around dogs she does not know, then her nuances kick in,half hearted chases and pulling away as she is about to strike, refusing to jump and a sullen and sulky nature, then when in company she knows she resorts back to her usual self. She does,nt do it all the time, just at the wrong moments.
  2. Or as what can often happen in these circumstances, the adult dog will be tucked up warm and comfortable and the youngster will be out in the cold shivering and miserable.
  3. Looks an handy type, well done on holding the dog back, how frustrating as that been?,id concentrate on a few daytime bunny,s,slow and steady until its confidence and experience shines through,if lamping is on the menu then start to enter that into the dogs education.
  4. Ive owned and worked many a different lurcher type, the thing the majority fail to take into consideration is the land and terrain they hunt and whats to be found there.Im a big Collie fan as ive found them to be adaptable to any environment and easy to enter.Id not own a first cross though,i find to much of the litter lacks the pace id wish for,at times. The addition of something else in the mix makes for a more versatile type of hunting companion, the Collie infusion aids and abets whatever else we may wish to add to the mix,an infusion ive yet to see bettered by anything else ive encountered.I
  5. I would,nt own a terrier unless it was a baying bolter,id never breed from a terrier that had no history of parentage that grafted the same way,it would be worse than useless for the majority of the places I enter a terrier.Digging dogs are just that and walk past an awful lot of places that cannot be dug, fact, what keeper or landowner that wants a problematic pest shifting will be happy to see a terrier owner saying he will have to leave that one be for now,as his terrier is,nt suited on the day.he may as well set a snare or give the job to a mush and his gun.Ill stick to my culls and the oppo
  6. Its still only a £5,a £5,think about it,its less than 1% of what your wanting for the pups, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

Yeah, what I am trying to say I think is unfair to those who have faith, it isn't the place of this forum to question that. Good analogy though. The questioning of religous beliefs is testament to how many religions there now are, plus the resultant wars and conflict that religion as and does cause, without religion and the belief in what we may perceive to be a GOD,would there be any such conflict?,especially when the better educated amongst us look down on the least educated civilisations that never go to war and don,t have any realisation of religous beliefs, they may worship the moon

could have been frozen on an asteroid that collided with the earth so we are the aliens Could anything survive a molten ball of iron Paulus, i doubt it? and all the water came from asteroids made of ice supposedly? so life must have come from outer space? Its a recognised idea now.Could anybody survive a molten ball of iron, seriously how many members on here are married? and God created women.
  9. Theres literally dozens of litters on the market, pardon the pun,a little free advertisement never harmed the sale of a litter, its a miserly £5?.
  10. Jihadi J?,im a sucker for a good news story, especially if a few 5ft 7" jocks are in the storyline.
  11. Why not pay a £5 spot and advertise them in the right section, especially with the dollar they will bring to your wallet?.

Your shrinking little toes? Is it the toe?
  13. Id have smashed its puny Mexican head in with the table, soz i thought id just sent the Sherwood Evangelist a pm.
  14. Best thing ive read in fecking years, marvelous and so gratifying.
  15. How many Greyhounds do you know that have caught a rabbit thats eaten a ball?.
  16. If you learn the mutt to accept a little intrusion into its daily habits i.e.a little interference in its dining activities,it may then better respond to you in a more favourable way when you may wish to take a bunny from its mouth, worm it,inspect its teeth etc.,it will also better accept the intrusion a few inquisitive kids may push it to etc.,etc.,etc.
  17. We learn something new every day, thats just solved my Border terrier and Canary conundrum, cheers.
  18. Part and parcel of responsible dog ownership, especially if kids share the same household, teaching a mutt to accept a little intrusion into its daily activities also teaches the same youngster to accept other intrusions it may encounter in the field,if you don,t know or understand BASIC dog training and responsible ownership then?.
  19. Familiarity, not forgetting that an equal part of the training is getting the ferrets used to the dogs,my terriers are in the vicinity of the ferrets from pups and soon ignore them, then its a case of letting them come together and keeping control, over many many lessons. Then its awaiting the accidents that happen when a terrier thats worked itself into a working frenzy,as they have an habit of doing, forgets its education and mullers a ferret,as will happen, thats why all my terriers are broken to ferrets, but i only trust 2 of them.
  20. Id not put them together, far to risky until you have an idea of how the adult dog will take to the pup, then there is the feeding scenario to contemplate.A pup will be a little boisterous and wish to do puppy things, many adult lurchers prefer quiet solitiude in their run and bed and will eventually get fed up of the nature of a pup and react in a manner that will either injure the pup or dominate it,thus having an adverse reaction on the pups development.
  21. If anything is left around here after the Summer hunters its fair game, waste of time trying to protect future sport on most of the land around here, sadly, ive a few Oasis,s that are heavily protected that i can practice honest hunting on,they are drying up though. With every generation the laws of the countryside are eroded a little more, again sadly, there are some excellent youngsters taking their first steps in the game who have better discretion than some of the older generation that often educates them.
