  1. How small of chest busterdog? This spanable business is a load of bollxo,i never heard of it untill i came on here? Is it a judges point of view,or what? It's the point of view of a terrierman who doesn't want to sit on his arse while his dog has to dig on wasting the day. I would not worry about the size of a dogs head,i would br more inclined to worry has the dog the heart to do the job,big head is of no addition if the dog is too big in the chest to get up to its game.
  2. Was on lene today for a few hours, conditions were not great for fishing, too calm and too bright, but we still managed a couple of trout and had 8 jack pike 3 perch. The lake seems to be full with jack pike in the last couple of weeks for some reason,we were'nt catching them up until recently.
  3. that fairpoint that i agree with 100% any one use carpet mills for the terrier fitness,,? A carpet mill is more of a muscle builder... You need one of these! i was looking at that at kevs show, looks like it could come in handy You looked fit enough to me cg,dont think you need one,lol now as for me well i dont think it would hold me.Seriously they were very well made, fair play.
  4. By there 4th to 5th season they should be at there peak imo, then dogs differ dont they.
  5. Everyone's nightmare neil, happened me last year while i was away diging, lucky my daughter aint afraid of them and she got there in time before the harm was done.
  6. I feed barf and fresh tripe the whole year round, just stick it in a fridge in the shed no problems with it,hope your pup is ok. shes fine now, shes playing with her brother, you probably saw the 2 of them in a box in my van yesterday I actually did not go round the back,i could see the tin food on the ground,we were standing beside the silver jeep parked beside your van.The only dog i seen you with was a nice patterdale bitch.Do you keep many terriers for diging cg,nice to see a lady into the terriers.A mate of mine has a daughter thats big into the diging and any other type of h

  8. I give them 5cc straight down the neck, does them no harm.
  9. Now thats a lot of foxs, fair play to them lads, the most we ever had on a fox drive was 17 and i thought that was a high number.
  10. Give her plenty of liquids it will help flush her out,and feed her with that canned dog food you had yesterday instead of dry meal, lol. She probably ate to much and now she is feeling sorry for hersely, but plenty of liquid should do the trick.
  11. Now im not trying to take the piss but a straw fox wont bite back,in my opinion that is shite talk.
  12. I had to go home and go on the beer, you insulted my dog and when i tried to chat you up you insulted me,drove me to drink did, lol,cg it was nice to meet you even though you dont know me.
  13. Went to the westmeath show today, good turn out and some smashing looking terriers and lurchers on display.Great to see such a large amount of workers in the one field, well done to kevin and the lads who organised it.
  14. never use a dog as stud who couldnt kill his fox but dont talk about it on here..we wont need the antis to finish us we will manage that by ourselves...... I would not breed of a bitch that could not kill fox to ground let alone dog.
  15. Some terriers have a knack for killing foxs,i owned a bitch a few year back that i never broke through to a live fox with, she could kill them in a matter of minutes and she was only a small thing, but extremely hard for her size, now she had a knack of doin it.I have 2 dogs at the minute that if given half a chance will kill fox below ground no prob but takes them a lot longer than the bitch.
  16. I will agree with dev on this one,a mixer is the best tool, especially on educated game.In my mind a bayer would be a waste of time on something that has seen it all before,it would end up diging all over the place without a result and the earth f****d up.
  17. ess, Iwould advice a lab, they very steady when trained properly and not as giddy as a ess or cocker spaniel, not knocking the spaniels i have 2 of them i use from september to end of january for my own rough shooting and also to beat on a partridge shoot for a mate. The lab i use mainly for picking up and for duck shooting and find her a lot steadier than the springers.
  18. She is in pup allright Donie due 16 next month but is very big allready. So he is not just a pretty face,he has lead in his pencil to go with it.lol.I hope the pups dont inherit them big lugs of his. Im good with the hand to get them going.Must be from practice. Are you goin to kevin's show tomorrow liam, yeah its not the first time you had your finger in it lol,you should have been in that film,ANIMAL.FARM,lol.
  19. The one's i use are swiveled at both ends, next the tether and also where you fix the cord solid.I found that without a swivel at the cord end they would ware too easily and then accidents could happen, more so if you keep a lot on strings in a compound, they must be secure and checked regulary.
