Why carry injections? Surely antibiotics aren't need until they have been washed up at home I would be with Scent on this one, better to have it in the dog working from the inside out until you get home, sometimes it could be hours before you eventually make it home at that stage infection will have set in.We always have water and antibiotics with us,rough wash after a dig, shot of anti if needed and then when you get home give them a good wash out but everybody has there own way of doing things.

Run a electric fence along the top of the run, battery or mains that will stop the killing.

I reckon the most important thing you need is a capable terrier that will stay with the game and hold it in a stop no luck involved at all but then you also need the man power to dig to the dog.How many digs a week would ye usually get in the hunting season or have ye a limit that you have to stick to.

If you have any luck locating a litter ,drop me a pm please ,I would also like one of these .atb Not knocking you and its none of my buisness but in all honesty why would you want such a dog.We had that x years ago from working bred dogs and unless geting worked hard often they are a liability around other dogs but if its what you are into then crack on.

Agree with Dilly Dog,too many lads worrying about what a terrier looks like when they really should be worrying more about how it works and the standard it works to.I have had terriers with undershot overshot mouths and they worked no prob and worked well, unless your a rossette hunter who gives a flying f**k what the terrier looks like aslong as it does a job for you after all your the one that cleans up the shit after it no one else.Same with colour,i could not care less what colour they were, they could be pink and if they worked the way i wanted then who cares.

Blaise you are lucky men in that you can legally dig to badger. Can i ask an honest question,i realise you dont use locaters on your terriers thats your choice or laws but on a dig how many drops would you make to eventually reach dog and game as in holes dug, just cutious as i can remember pre-locator digging to terriers and it was not always a 1 hole job. Locator isn't allowed here. Electronic devices aren't allowed whatever type of hunt. It's always a great debate on this forum. We have to be agree on one fact : the hunt must be run in a different way. In France, we dig larger hol

Had 1 about 30 odd year ago, little bitch with what we call a chainy eye[blue eye] from the collie,a brilliant little lamper and good little ferreting bitch, could turn on a sixpence and a great burst of speed after bolters. She would also tackle fox but could not hold them but a good bitch to hunt them up in cover. When ever my current lurcher which is 11-12 years old passes on its something like that i will go for just for a bit of mouching and lamping.

In 1989 i lived for awhile right beside Willesden tube station in north london, seen cubs and adult foxs on a regular basis also we were doing a demolition job in Southampton place and we were stoped because a badger and cubs were found living in the basement area of the building, complete job stoped for weeks until they found some way of moving them on,i did say i would get shut of them but they reckoned i just might get arrested, lol.

I reckon Foxdropper was wrong about you when he said you got the short straw,i reckon you were the the end result of a straw and a poor one at that you f***ing muppet.

On an intellectual scale ,this post amongst others of yours is on a minus .You are a sheep that follows ,no brain of your own .You have taken nothing from this thread and given nothing whereas I ,a mere mortal have learnt that the fox in other areas behaves different to ours in general.I have nothing against hunting ,spent many a day with them but certain individuals have voiced opinions about serious control therefore causing a rift .I'm glad you know all there is to know about foxes FB because life in general has seemed to dealt you a short straw . FD we have an old saying here, very har

What do the fox's survive on food wise,i understand there is probably plenty of waterfowl but have you got rabbits, hares and such and also would you have many fox on there.Any thing they can get mate but yeah both rabbit and hare abound here possibly because most farmers are very anti lurcher even if they know you but there are some sporting ones . Yeah we have our fair share of fox but no more than any other place but they arnt roaming the streets most that are taken are taken by rifle on the lamp As its a smallish area as you say you could walk round it in a day,do the foxs that exist on

MIK I think cubs would be like pups as in if its a small litter like the vixen only has 2 cubs instead of 4 say, , they have the best of milk for a few weeks on tap before she will be away her self mooching... or just to get out of there road for a few hours...then best of her spoils when she comes back... so best of grub and no vying between cubs would grow substantially fatter, better bone structure and quicker coat growth than the average fox cubs that have been struggling.... so may look more maturer than they actually are. best way I always try and tell the age of a terrier, lurcher or
