  1. As above, it's common in that cross and roadwork should improve and strengthen the feet. Once he's been walked a few weeks maybe try trtting him beside a bike. I'd just like to add though, those feet aren't too bad, I've seen them a lot worse than that.
  2. Was thinking of something differant mate but tinned tomatoes spring to mind something to do with the potasium in them helps against the problem but dont take it as read because its just a distant memory I was thinking of rhabdylymosis https://www.vetstream.com/ its on here but carnt do a link to the exact bit atb 2.8 Try this link https://www.vetstream.com/canis/Content/Disease/dis60304.asp
  3. Don't worry, with a bit of patience you soon will be.
  4. Pipe lagging is good and lightweight. The type that's like a foam rubber tube.
  5. gvc, that's the best looking half cross I've seen in a while.
  6. How much collie's in that one WM. Was he half cross to half cross? I've kept mostly collie crosses for 35 years or so. I've a young deer cross bitch now that I like very much so I'm curious about mixes of the two. Jossa, can you tell me how yours is bred too mate.
  7. Cheers gvc. Hope they all do well. You're not going to have much spare time in winter for a few years between them and the wheaton crosses.
  8. He probably doesn't fancy getting flattened . I've got an 18 month old deer cross, 28 at the shoulder. She loves rough housing but none of the other dogs likes playing with her as she bowls them hard and grabs a bit hard too. I wish she'd learn some manners. She's live to hand with rabbits so I know she can do it.
  9. What kind of mali were they bred from? Was it a security/police one or one of the kennel club type? They certainly look useful. Nice 'n leggy and fast I'll bet.
  10. Both looking in fine form. What's the little brown terrier rooting in the riverweed?
  11. Surely lurcherlink http://www.lurcherlink.org/llink/forum/viewforum.php?f=4 or someone like that would take her?
  12. As above, it's been well worth the money to me mate.
  13. In fairness to SHH I'll bet at least 50% of lads running deer or fox before the ban would run a youngster doubled up with an experienced dog for it's first run or two and if he can make a few pennies writing for CMW then good luck to him. . I never read the thing anymore as I'd be lucky to find one article worth reading in it these days. I do miss the shooting news though.
  14. You could try the one in Arcticgun's post here:- http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/304012-useful-numbersvets-muscle-men/page-3
  15. Having said that it's hard to see from the pic exactly what's going on there. Dame, is the whole toe displaced or is it one of the lower toe joints that's out of place? Does your vet have a lot of experience of greyhounds/running dogs? If not it'll be worth going to one that does.
  16. Penny, do you know if anyone ever tried locking the toe back down in place somehow, longterm, in order to allow the tendon to shrink possibly??? I'm sure if it was possible someone would have done it by now but I can't help wondering. I've seen some, mostly coursing type hounds in the hands of dealers, with toes sticking out at every angle.
  17. Like I say, I've heard all the arguments over the years. I know what you're saying Bosun, but if I'm on a hillside overlooked by a farmhouse half a mile away, I'm hoping anyone there is too busy to notice me or my dog/dogs. I might or might not wear some camo but whatever I wear will be muted colours, usually greens or browns. Same if I'm stalking through the woods with or without a bow, same if I'm fishing for seatrout on the river.I like my dogs to be in fairly muted colours too. What the coursing lads do isn't relevant to me. If they have permission on land they're fine and when they haven
  18. I've no experience of this but if you post a photo you'll get better answers from those who have.
  19. I agree Brenner. I've heard all the arguments as to how it makes no difference what colour your hound is but I STILL say that a white dog on open heath or fields is way more likely to be noticed than any other colour. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
  20. As above Breeze, top pictures.
