  1. A good dinner there, it’s good to see a few rabbits about this yr,
  2. I know what you are saying and in most cases you are right, but nothing in my opinion will go through a thick nest like a B.B. you can see it come through the top, and to be honest it’s never really failed me, as for foxes I have shot the out of high seats before with BB’s, and they don’t move generally , just drop, I know what underdog is saying, I have shot a fair few with number4’s, and there are a number of cartridges that will do the job, but I do prefer to stick more toward what I have tried and tested over the yrs, I think the one thing the 12 has over them both is cartridge choice, alt
  3. Can I ask what that sight is, rimfire boy, and how do you find using one on a shotgun, I found mine strange at first,
  4. Yes I agree they will, but BB’s are very good, when shooting through Squirel drays, especially when they in the bottom of old magpie nests, they are a very handy shell, I don’t use many, but when I do they do the job,
  5. Well I have just got hold of a 20 gauge silenced Mossberg, and I like it, last wk I sat in a hedge, three crows came across the field I killed the first, missed the second, and killed the third, the birds didn’t deactivate they kept coming, they are good guns, I use 28 grn no 5’s high pheasant, and along side the hushpower cartridge’s I cant tell the difference, learning to shoot with the silencer on took a bit of getting used to, so I put a red dot sight on it, for no money really and bingo, I am starting to get some results from it, I did think about the 12 bore, but found it he
  6. And that to me is the only drawback with them, just like the nomol trap,
  7. No mate 20 gauge, I will have to have a crack at the clays to get used to looking at the mod, I am thinking of getting a 410 as well,
  8. I find the high pheasant 28 grn 5 ‘s very good I have tried the hushpower gamebore, but the high pheasant , are my preferred shell at the moment,
  9. Just got mine It is heavy to walk with, but good in the hide, it’s the sight picture that I need to get used to,
  10. It’s funny there seems no one really cleans them, i was capped how much old blood came off the stalking rifle, I just used a bit of soapy water in the end, weak mix of star drops, I was wondering if they were any products out there,
  11. I used one in Scotland, and trust me when they are bad up there, there bad, and it worked very well, I will agree though that skin so soft is also very good, as for ticks I never got one when I used it, if that is anything to go by, if the dog is sat in close it makes a big difference to him too,
  12. Yes, but not cheap to run daft money for refil pads and gas, but they do work,
  13. Nowt wrong with a teckle mate, good to see one being used over here,
  14. Good cull buck, ours are mostly boned up on the antlers, up here and have been for a while, very early this yr to be fare dispite the shit weather,
  15. Thankyou for that, it’s good to learn, that makes sense,
  16. How does that stand with the firearms ticket being black powder and ball then, is it on ticket or not being smooth bore, sorry for sounding thick, I know the shotgun would be ok, just the ticket for black powder required, the one I fired with ball belonged a friend, who had firearms ticket, so always assumed it would be required,
  17. Underdog it’s good you do these posts, I have always had a fascination, with black powder guns, and did once try one which my brother still has I believe, I also tried a Kentucky style long rifle, owned by a friend back in the late 80’s I must say I could not hit a bloody thing with ball, beyond 20 paces, and that was a 45 gallon drum, but the shotgun I enjoyed, it’s good to see someone hunting with them,
  18. Spot on ianm, DSC1 or 2 is not a need to have at all, book some dates in a diary for stalking, with the wife’s uncle, it’s a little more tang able then,
  19. Can I ask what products people use to clean there synthetic gun stocks, I usually just give mine a wipe, but was wondering what other people use,
  20. I am sure he can’t hold 5 bags of sugar, on the end on that stick, with one hand so easily, it has to be crap,
  21. Cheers this is second hand Mossberg 500 20 hushpower, as I say I havnt yet seen it, as the dealer is a fare distance from me , I know it’s in good condition,
