  2. What shot size do the eley do, I got two boxes of gamebore no 5’s super comp hushpower, to try I put two through my side by side, and they certainly kill well, there 30 grm, I won’t pick the gun up for a couple of wk,
  3. I am just about to buy one in twenty bore, same as yours, can I ask what cartridges you use through it,
  4. I think sometimes we stereotype dogs by breed, no two dogs are the same even from the same breed, I have to be careful here as I know someone will pick me up on this, my experience is mainly around gun dogs, dispite my farther being a very active terrier man when I grew up, when it comes to training, basic stuff as lead training and sitting, is all apart of instilling boundaries, and that starts very early in my opinion, but most gun dogs really are 18 month to two yr old before they are ready, the thing with a gun dog is you see, or are able to recognise when the dog is ready to move to the n
  5. A lot of dogs have been screwed up, for the sake of a bit of patience , that’s true with most breeds of working dogs,
  6. It all boils down to worm counts, if you have a poor worm count, you tend to have more digging, at the end of the day they are trying to fill there bellies, if you have a lot of digging, in a field that is rich in worms, then you can expect a reasonably high Catch number, I get asked regularly by customers, how many moles do you think there is, well there’s no accurate way of knowing, I have gone to jobs that look horrendous, and caught no way near what I expected, and jobs that don’t particularly look bad, and caught far more than I expected, it’s a lottery really, I have done this for yrs an
  7. Yes I wouldn’t mind giving one ago, I met bob Merrin, last yr and never thought to ask him to make me one, I like trying different traps,
  8. Anything that would help mate, thanks for the kind offer
  9. Jiggy, the bloody prescription charge is a fortune, which makes it not viable, them vets are crooks mate,
  10. I have a issue with something called dry eye, ( lack of tear production) in my jack Russel and have to buy a crem made up by the vet, £25 a month, It’s the dogs left eye the one with the brown patch it does look cloudy, but doesn’t affect him, apparently caused by an infection, I use viscotears as well, his other eye is clear, he’s a good grafter, and as I said yet to see it slow him down,
  11. She seems to have the will then, it’s up to you to build the skill, the best challenge in the world, (in my opinion ) good luck mate
  12. Lively looking little dog mate, good luck hope she does well,
  13. He looks a proper character, handy for pulling the car out if it gets stuck,
  14. Quads are a good tool, but bloody cold at times I wouldn’t have got around on foot, bloody blizzard on 2 big farms and shit weather, good to see the hares huddled into the hedge back though,
  15. They are I have used the 6.5x55 for over 10 yr really nice caliber, but I have never tried a take down rifle
  16. I looked at a Blaser in 6.5 but wasn’t keen, I think I may have misjudged them, it’s handy to have things tidy, and out the way,
  17. Tidy looking rifle what caliber ??
  18. I use my quad this year, backs bolloxed, and the fields are wet and hard walking, I tend to lay my traps from the quad, then check on foot, they are good tools but I must admit, I never used to rely on the quad it’s only the last year or so,
  19. Look in the bottom of the track, is there toe pads or not, as above best suspect Fox,
  20. Best to lift them, I was caught out I have traps on one farm, I managed to lift, two other farms, the thing is they are well marked, I am not scared of loosing any, they will have to be repositioned anyway, when the snow clears as the frost heave will close most wet runs, so the moles will only fill the traps when they clear them out anyway,
