  1. So what is the best rods for shrimping/ prawning
  2. I only have a 6.5 photon and in truth I now like it, it kills everything I put in the cross hairs, I am convinced a lot of the gear is over priced, it’s a mine field what to buy, I will stick with what I know,
  3. That purple whiskers looks good, I will be having ago myself this yr if this bloody lockdown ever ends
  4. The question has to be around there accuracy, a lot of American shooters seem cautious of there accuracy, it seems they do not like tight chokes, I think they are worth investigating, I am stuck, as in locked down, but I do intent to load some once I get the gear, I need to do it for my own piece of mind, I rang the gun shop up where I got my mossberg just before the lock down to ask about the steel shot scenario, as I had only bought it last yr brand new and it was full choked, obviously I will need to change that if we make in my view a stupid move to steel, especially with small bores, the
  5. I am putting them on mine this next yr, just trying to find a gun with 1/2 choke or so
  6. Have you ever loaded the slugs then SD,
  7. Have you patterned your loads, how do they compare with shop bought stuff,
  8. Thanks for that sausagedog I will have a good look at that website it looks very interesting, so what press do you use,
  9. If you could get a resizer then, could you not load them with a lee Loader as in a rifle press, ok I know you would never load a large amount, as you would have to weigh out your powder and shot manually, but all you would need is a set of dies, I did think of fire forming some brass shells for the 410 from 303 rounds,
  10. Not being funny mate, get a few different loads, and pattern them then make your decision, steel definitely patterns different to lead, and despite what people are saying they are much less affective than lead, I haven’t used much bismuth but have heard good things about it compared to steel, I find no 3’s and4’s seem to give good patterns in my sx4 but seriously get your mates to give you an odd hand full of different types and shot sizes, buy a roll of plain wall paper and set up a pattern plate, make a not of what she’ll does what with what choke and make an informed decision,
  11. I have fired 28 gauge, and I currently own a 20, and I have always loved the 410, each to his own mate,
  12. Cheers Philpot, good looking website that
  13. I know what you mean with the 28 bore, but I fancy loading 410 slugs, And to be fair I should get a decent amount of shells from a tub of powder, it’s a bit like the rifle loading, I moved on to 22 hornet and love the round a tub of reloader 7 Seems to lasts for ever, I still load for my other calibers, It might be a phase I am going through, but thought I would I have a look at it,
  14. I have used 410 since I was a young kid and love them, although I have had a break from using one, in the sense I have always had one in the cabinet, last yr I sold my side by side and treat myself to a new mossberg pump 410 silenced, and I love it, I kill more than I miss and it has rekindled my love of the caliber, anyway my experience with shotgun loading isn’t massive,I still have Dads old lee 12 bore loading press here somewhere, I do however load most of my firearm ammo 223, 22 hornet and 6.5x55 plus others I have owner throughout my shooting carrier, so while sat bored beyond belief I t
  15. And that’s the issue with most dogs, people try to teach them to go/hunt, anybody can do that, it’s a lot wiser to teach them to stop, a lot of dogs hit the working field too early, or in a too excited state,
  16. Rebel as said above any dog will blood scent, is it good practice to have a dog to hand well without doubt yes, is it compulsory no, what you have to remember is good field craft will find most if not all sensibly shot deer, as regards the dog most who use a dog to and spend that one on one intense time, with there dog never look back, they add to the experience and it builds a dog and handler relationship massively, I have used dogs around deer for around 20yr and Tyla is right the dog knows exactly what is expected, this is a young lab I took on 18 month old and he was gun shy his first f
  17. Sportsman are posting bullet heads out mate
  18. I was told when I bought mine the sx4 , is just a cheaper version of the sx3 ,and if you look online at the time I bought mine the sx3 was more money, I have never handled one, but this is not bad advice they are worth a look,
  19. No mate mine didn’t come with shims, but I got it at a good price it had a damaged box, it comes up lovely really it’s the 26 inch barrel so light and manoeuvrable
  20. Hi mate I bought one last year, and I like it nice gun, if I was to knock it I am a left handed and the safety catch is big by comparison to my other semi auto’s I am told you can switch the safety around I am trying not to do that and am hoping I will get used to it, I have inadvertently put the safety on which is bloody annoying, although that happened it hasn’t marred my view on them they are good value for money and I am not keen on the barrel finish, that said the gun is very reliable and cycles everything you put through it, I used a good number of 3 1/2 inch through it
  21. Don’t know how they could not honour there commitment, however the rumour was they had said they wouldn’t, each to his own but I think they are, in my eyes too powerful for there own good, I know to me it’s a rumour but the person who told me is not one for spreading crap, and the same thing is echoed above, I can’t verify it myself as I do not use any other forums as such, only this one and I haven’t really been on here for a long time,
  22. If that’s the case and you are not insured as pigeon watch have indicated, are BASC going to refund 3 months premiums, or however how many months this goes on for ?????
  23. BASC I could not agree more, why is anyone still supporting them is beyond belief, bring back wagbi
  24. My really bad traps I put them in white vinegar 24 hours or so,then give them a spray with liquid galvanising spray, works a treat certainly revives old traps,
