  7. I took a mate bassing tonight on the eels, he hasn't done it before... I told him he would need some waders, but he assured me he'd be fine up to his waist in water as the sun was out, well it was way down by 9pm and he was shaking like a shitting dog lol... The sun had brought out the crowds so it was hard early on, but I had a mackerel off the point of the estuary ( they go well on match gear and 6lb line)... Once the crowds had gone we headed back up between the boats and 2nd chuck I had a Schoolie, again good fun on the light gear... Eventually between his teeth chattering an

I've always attempted to be as respectful as needs be in different situations with the law ( my view if your in a bit of bother kicking off and shouting and screaming at them don't tend to help)... Pip your right though there jokes and i can see no normal thinking man would want to be doing the shit they do and not getting paid for it, so no wonder they don't get treated with respect, the couple of incidents I've seen them perform they don't deserve respect and are more of a problem to the situation.... Oh and a mate of mines wife does it and she's yet to convince me of any good reason f

Had a couple incidents over the years with them and always found them to be ass holes of the highest order.... 1 a complete fcking jobsworth, I would like to bump into again..... even the desk sergeant made him leave the room and then said to me " the blokes a prick"......

  13. No reply yet lads..... He must be dead...... I'm going to donate the " Stanley Cup" to the fishing match... This will be for the smallest fish caught...
  14. My dads best mate took me everywhere with him, hunting, fishing, nesting every walk was an adventure lol I had no worries with either of my parents, I'd be gone all day with the dogs, ferrets or fishing and as I got older I used to lug an old car battery around lamping, the only bollockings I got was for ruining all my jeans with the acid lol My Auntie on the other hand was a twat, a raving anti, vegan, protester the lot, she called me barbaric when I came in one day with 3 rabbits from ferreting.. I was about 12... She's not with my uncle anymore and I haven't seen her in over 10 years..
  15. You sound like my sainted Mum - and that's a compliment - as that is exactly what I was brought up to believe, and it's held me in good stead for all of my adult life. Like I've already said, to me the ultimate insanity is spending money you haven't got on things you don't need, in the foolish belief that it will make you happy!! My mum was exactly the same mate, we were skint, proper skint lol, but she owed no one... My Dad wasn't around for a while but mum got her head down and made the best of it... A lot of older people still live by the old rules, if you can't afford it you can't have i
  16. That's why we're in the shit ( well half the reason), the banks, lenders etc just kept giving and giving with no real idea how they were getting it back, 100% mortgages, credit cards ( I can't believe the repayments you see touted about) etc A couple of lads who worked for me were nearly 30 and still owed from when they were 19, black listed the lot a real mess... It's hard for a youngster to be told at times but it can stay with you forever if your not careful... Now for the kids coming through his will any getting on The housing ladder etc?

  22. This'll be a big couple of years for me, built our (me and brother) business up for 15 years and then last January we merged with the man I first learnt from, giving us a much bigger concern, more headache and problems but hopefully the rewards to match. To come off the tools and run it was a big decision for me, but it would seem it was the right one.. We've picked up a lot of work enough for the rest of this year and 2 contracts that will be going for 3-4 years... I'm not counting my chickens though, 3 years ago we nearly lost the lot ( literally) when the shit dropped down hill from tesc
  23. Same here Ant, Me and the lad had a couple of hours with the live eels off of the back beach on Friday evening, not a touch... Yesterday we made a last minute decision to head to Cornwall for the afternoon, I grabbed the spinning rod and a box of lures, I couldn't get Fin out of the water but I wandered round the rocks for an hour or so near the top of the tide spinning with jellies and tried a dexter wedge but not a touch... Nice to read about someone hitting into them, though..
  24. I go out with a mate, one of his dogs is the same size, ( bull x) if I'm honest it's not my sort of dog but it never ceases to surprise me, far quicker and more nimble than its size would have you think.. Now I'm not saying it'll turn and move like a smaller dog ( whippet x etc) but its no slouch... I'm sure as said once the pup gets behind a few early season rabbits come jan/ feb it'll be motoring and looking fine... All the best with the pup Ray
