  1. under used i.m.o-why use some heap of dirt of a sire because some piece of paper says he has such and such breeding or inbreeding coefficient instead of a worker that throws a small, strong, well made type like peas in a pod
  2. they used to breed they used to breed greyhounds and racehorses the same way back in the day. http://www.sporthorse-data.com/d?i=165693 http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?i=391699 http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?i=920952 Why did they stop-i dont know-maybe they could afford to cull(only lords and kings etc keeping them in those days)and nowadays pups and colts are produced with sales in mind rather than performance.Maybe they didnt give a fiddlers fck about pedigree and just bred the best male that they owned or was local to them to their best female and hoped for the best and any
  3. an old man near me used to have a 3/4wheaten hound x jack russell a good few years back..smooth,wheaten cxoloured, smaller than a fox terrier-some dog to catch rabbits.
  4. used to work beside an indian bloke once, once i accidentally put india and third world country in the one sentence-he took it very badly "we are not a 3rd world country,we have a nuclear weapon"lol..supposedly the best education system in the world-but theres so many of them that theres probably 100000 students going for every 1000 places in college.
  5. the dog is making millions of sperm in his bag every week but the bitch had every pup she might ever throw inside in her before she was born herself-also she carries pups in her womb-all the cells of their bodies are made directly from her body(has to count for something)..To use an example from greyhound racing http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?breedpoints=269133 .No dog that ever lived had a strike-rate like that.
  6. At the risk of getting a pasting from froggy whatsit ,the dogs linage is everything ,A bitch becomes one of your broods providing she is tested and of sound temperament.A dog that consistently throws workers is the foundation to all good lines .Starting out ,the advice of the breeder should be followed to the letter but as you move on,youll get to know what works over what .STARTING FROM SCRATCH WITH AN UNKNOWN IS POT LUCK AND IMO A WASTE OF RESOURCE AND TIME[YEARS ] Im not arguing im discussing this with before you jump too it, It does not matter which way round you do it as both parents
  7. 30kg???thats the weight of a good sized greyhound bitch .
  8. what other breed of terriers was started from a kennell of 600 plus dogs, all tested and the inferior culled-O.k maybe the terriers sent out there initially wertent as good as what was kept at home---if i could draw an analogy with racing greyhounds-weve been sending dirt out to australia for the last century but they have faster racers than us now(to those who disagree with that statement-look up "black magic opal"..)..i wouldnt knock any breed till id tried it
  9. report the cxunt-people like that shouldnt be next, nigh or near a gun
  10. id say by the sounds of it you are already fit enough to pass with flying colours-just learn to relax your breathing and your head when you feel fxcked
  11. if theyre not up to doing their job(i.e able to handle pork or alcohol without having a canniption)then m&s shoulds take on people who can-plenty on the dole
  12. its like asking what line of greyhounds is best-could be a derby winner and a couple of useless ones in the one litter.

  14. id have used a pitbull myself-your ones look like crackers though-best of luck with them
  15. Spot on ! but if you are "Line breeding" or "in breeding" any genetic faults that come to the surface are not a problem as that is the point to -: 1) bring the good traits to the surface and retain them, or 2) bring the bad traits to the surface and eliminate them, and as you rightly say be prepared to cull hard. Here's a copy of a renowned breeders pedigree plan ... select your stud sire male (A) ..the one your trying to replicate or at least retain as many of his good traits as possible now obtain the best 2 prove
  16. im very dubious of programs like compusires,true-nicks etc,,trying to dazzle people with bullshit science and take their money.computer cant tell which side of the pedigree foal, pup, chick is after throwing to. ( The crystallizing effects of these ancestors, however, can be ameliorated by generational distance, which increases the likelihood that the contributions of these ancestors will become vulnerable to variation resulting from the successive crosses through which they descend. Consequently, the quality of runners inbred to such ancestors tends to improve as those ancestors become more
  17. Did you see the state of the dogs that ended up there(released to kill feral goats a few hundred years ago)-think they were all poisoned eventually.
  18. colononel thornton-bitch was coomassie(only 1/16 bulldog i think)-direct damline of double derby winner westmead hawk...Think he also owned the famous foxhound bluecap and had a lot do do with the origin of the english pointer and had a terrier called viper that most whitebodied terriers supposedly descend from.
  19. strange that all the pups are smooth, wouldn't have expected that. maybe there was a dash of bullterrier of some description in the backbreeding of the wheaten.
  20. just a deck of cards and a jug of wine and a womans lies makes a life like mine, when i walk by all the people say there goes another guy on the lost highway (lol)
