    not too many of them ones left id say liam,,a friends of mines father used have show staffs about 20 or more years back-couldnt be within sight of another dog..he still has 1 or 2 but they are like a different breed altogether(no relation to the ones he had before()

    The original thread I started was about buying the right dog for the right job, mainly to avoid the moving on of dogs not suited to the type of work people think they can make them do, if you buy a gundog then normally you would shoot over it, now other dogs will do a job, I've shot over a collie and my terriers but a day on the marsh wildfowling would call for a decent gundog breed, I used to train GSP's for field trials and shot over 2 myself, well I found myself short of a lurcher one year due to the premature death of my bitch and so I found myself using my GSP dog for killing foxes in tig

    Are you goin to keep the blue pup back? i dont know patterdale 666-i never had a litter that i found it as hard to pick a pup from-im getting a pup in off a friend as well by the same dog out of a tom parr bred bitch with 8 seasons behind her -so i dont know what to keep-theres a red nosed red dog in the litter as well that i like a lot and theres a bitch thats the spit of her dam-cant keep them all lol

    id a blue pup born yesterday from a chocolate coloured bitch and a red and white dog (1/2 patterdale 1/4 bull 1/4 plummer)x(3/4 plummer 1/4 bull)..i know the guy who bred the bull fairly well and he never saw it either(keeping same line since early eighties)..any ideas where it came from..The other pups are 2 brindles ,2 red nosed reds and a creamy blue weird coloured one

    only a pup by the looks of it rex26-a mate of mines terrier pup took about half an hour to kill one-sort of playing with/torturing it(same dog has already killed adult foxes in cover)

    litter of plummer x cockers born yesterday(accidental litter)sire is only young but promising(was catching rabbits at 5 months)-dam is an old cocker bitch of field trialling stock-excellent bitch.in ireland though.

    i tried it myself a few years ago dixiefried but the bitch missed and was robbed a few months later.i.m.o they are very similar types of terrier.

    id say 70s pablo but most of todays dogs would go back to a handful of dogs and bitches in the 90s and late 80s.

    why would you be culling pups cargol-are you able to spot the non-workers while theyre still young.

    your assuming every mrs walshie over the last 800 odd years was faithful to her husband lol--id agree with you about nationality though-there is definitely an ethnic element to it ,the word nation comes from the latin for grandson/descendent
