  1. thats him there-was trying to get up a picture of my bitch but photobucket not cooperating
  2. american pitbull -thers a picture of him in the pitbulls and staffs thread
  3. plummer in "diary of a hunter" said that his best workers were plummer/patterdale/plummer crosses.I have a 1/4 plummer,1/2 patterdale myself -shes coming on fairly well-The plummer she was bred off wasnt afraid of the dark either though
  4. only 11 kids,she must be frigid
  5. terror in tiny town-a western made using midgets on shetland ponies(i wouldnt mind a few of whoever made it was taking)
  6. they are kind of -the word nation comes from the latin nascor(descended from)-i.e of the same race-and no, im not knocking nationalism-its a great tool for rich people to get working class people to kill each other so they can become richer. I know a guy with a few dogs he got of jason powell-he rates them highly-havnt seen them working myself.they are hairy lakey looking things-what does the breeding of them go back to-N.stephens lines?
  7. is it newpark (near clonmel)? sorry missed a few posts before i posted that..Maybe price around-60 euro they charged me to a.i my bitch that got stolen with a ted bundy minded glen..Fresh semen rather than frozen though-they can do that too and have an endoscope so no need to cut the bitch open. Its funny -a lot of greyhound litters by u.s supersires such as downing,ks flak etc. were nowhere as good as the dogs they produced when they were alive-i think ohlongarm and deadgame from the states have done it with patterdales-maybe ask them how it worked out for them.
  8. As soon as bull blood needed adding to a strain of working terrier, then you just knew the strain where not really workers. what book did you read that in?-nothing wrong with a bit of bull in terriers -some come out a bit too big or too dog aggressive but that sometimes happens anyway-good cross when it works out- It was never needed in decent working jukels,a quick fix that produces more for the wheelie bin than a working kennel. Im only 32- how many centuries old are you? not having a go id say there was bull terrier of a kind in all of them long before we were born...Thanks for
  9. THe THL phd genetics student are u(not having a go -but none of us have a crystal ball)-might breed right good dogs if put to a dog that is an outstanding finder-wouldnt do it myself though.

  13. plenty of them will go to ground as well
  14. ive never owned a car or other motorised transport-i walk to anywhere im hunting-just gets further and further as the dogs get older(i dont think a terriers musculature and skeleton is as sensitive as a lurcher/greyhound),now and again id carry a terrier in a bag on my back by bicycle if i was going hunting very far away-(havnt done that in a good while though)
  15. different strokes for different dogs-some work better if kept in -some it makes no difference to
  16. shes a short leged bitch about 11 inch, not for everyone but works well for me i have 2 of these terriers and they are good around other dogs work cover very well, this one is working under and over and very keen. i really liked the look of her when i saw her at the show, happy christmas to you-that bitch i had up there is doing very well as well(above and below)-myself and the brother were checking horses he has grazing somewhere, earlier when she put a fox out rushes-id say he heard us talking and was sneaking off-the brother spotted him-off after him like there was a rocket up her hole
  17. Well john, interesting stuff!! Do you know of a glenn dog doing the business?it would be a better cross,if you could get the wright minerals? I made a mistake when i posted that john -it was a glen and a beagle-there was 2 of themthe one that looked like a glen flipped one day when she was 3 or 4 and killed the other one and a labrador- theres a litter coming up off the same dog over his half sister( im not sure if the bitch took or if theres pups available)-there all feohanagh (christy hartnett r.i.p)lines-i.m.o there wouldnt be a glen of imaal breed at all without him-and he kept them r
  18. well done, fine strong lumps of terriers ye have, all the best
  19. But how many speakers of ancient hebrew, elamite etc .does a person come accross in life to prove whether they can or not.He was an extremely intelligent man-i
  20. no worries,id say have a look on greyhound-data-more than likely theres a good dog not too far from you
  21. theres any amount of coursing dogs for free this time lof year-maybe a length or two off derby class-but a hell of a lot faster than anything at stud on this site.Ive 2 (1 permenantly)injured BITCHES if you want either of them.
  22. id say plummers have as much breay/buck breeding in them as all but a few lines of patterdales(look upplummers thistle),some of them have inherited the desirable genes and some havent-same as any strain of dog.I think the problem with them was the over use of certain studdogs some of whom were curs
  23. id say theres wheaten or glen of imaal way back in the breeding of all the northren working terrier-the reason i say it is ,a friend of mine had an accidental litter from a glen and a wheaten about 9 0r 10 years back-1 was identical to a working lakeland or coarse irish terrier type.I bred my old bull/plummer bitch to the same glen and one also came like a lakeland.Id say it coulds be a very useful cross though maybe a bit hard
  24. peeled him, thanks for posting that tbd
