  2. theyre beauties smasher, troy turbo stuff?
  3. shitetalk- they are all irish/australian bred these days--english lines died out with the water loo cup--and before you mention nick savva /english lines-where did his dogs come from-a bit like calling a patterdale an irish breed
  4. theres a guy on here with the brother of your dog (has a pack of teagle types-Brock dog is his name)-jamie 2007 live was the sire of your dads owner(i think)-maybe if you check back through old posts you could find his number
  5. a friend of mine freecasts a border/lakie with the collar on her-finds a good few that way
  6. thought they were fox -terriers lol---had a greyhound once that used do the same as the blackdog
  7. is genetics always the reason for that though?maybe the lesser performer was cheap to breed to ,therefore got loads of bitches/mares and some of the pups/foals were bound to be good.
  8. You can get rid of any fault by in breeding even if both of your origional stock have the fault, but you do have to cull without question,to purefy the genes. I always try to remember that genes from both parents divide and rejoin randomly to form whole genes again in the offspring. This is simplifying it but its easier to understand. If you think of a gene as being a whole thing but made up of two parts. It can be DD double dominant, DR Dominant/recessive or RR double recessive. Thats how you can breed together two dogs that both express eg, determination but neither are pure DD for that trai
  9. big teeth, strong jaws, small enough to get to ground
  10. had a kind of kennell accident today-plummer(mainly) dog covered a cocker bitch off field trialling stuff.I thought she was gone out but terrier pup had other ideas.Id say they might make cracking bushers.
  11. saw a couple of them at a show in clonmel a few years back,,they certainly have the tools to do a bit of damage-pity theres no one using them as earth dogs anymore
  12. How did people go from this type of Russel to what's about now, without breeding for looks? would the dogs from the cork line be anything like them? a lot of parson jrs look suspiciously like wirehaired fox terriers to me
  13. id say the best are still in Britain and Ireland--just because of stupid laws and thieving feckers people wouldn't be crowing about tbem
  14. Hes a lot like that dog Bird-very quiet dog
  15. I think aldhous huxley dropped acid every day for the last few years of his life--queen Victoria was fond of her opiates--prince harry---one law for toffs another for the rest...probably were not sufficiently educated to handle it
  16. more than likely dixiefried-he dosent look a hundred miles away from the dogs p3d posted(the paintings by alken)-theres bull in my own terriers-some of them throw bigger and some smaller..A guy who had a dog off me got an 8lb bitch out of a stevens bitch and aplummer/pitbull dog--the pit(grandfather) was 55lb in fit condition..I bred cousins of the same bitch myself-some came out like pure staffs, some the right size and some too small
  17. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Pitch_by_gilpin.jpg supposedly the ancestor of all white bodied terriers
  18. Hows it going Bird,,is an alano and a Spanish mastiff the same thing?Theres a pub I drink in now and again that has one out the back(very big dog-I thought it was an owchartka but he said it was a Spanish mastiff)
  19. grand to see a picture of him-strong looking thing
  20. looking well-are they around 6 months old now
  21. i think northern dancer was owned by a syndicate who would only agree to him having a limited book at stud--they bought up all of his sons, shutteled them between ireland, japan and australia so they could be covering mares all the time..good buisness plan lol
  22. id say a lot more than 50% comes from the bitch ,so its only a waste of time putting a great dog over a shite bitch
  23. three groups that we know of required brother-sister marriages for their high nobility: the ancient Egyptians, the Incas of Peru, and the old kingdom of Hawaii (Beals and Hoijer 1965). Some groups also allow sex between fathers and daughters. The Thonga, a tribe in East Africa, permit a hunter to have sexual intercourse with his daughter before he goes on a lion hunt. And a tribe in Central Africa, the Azande, permit high nobles to marry their own daughters (LaBarre 1960). http://wps.ablongman.com/ab_henslin_essentials_5/12/3197/818642.cw/index.html i think cleopatra had only 6 great
  24. hows it going fox-pack-is the middle picture beagle/russell by the brock dog that used to be up on here a few years back
  25. I'll tell you exactly why as I've had this conversation with him about the "Hacket white" first time round, Plummer hated the tag of "Russell type" or "strain of Russell" and his persistence to breed a different colour and coat pattern was always to the forefront in every mating he did so there was a visible difference, he hated any white bodied dog and would never breed off or keep any white bodied progeny, Bull terriers are one of a few breeds were sexual dismorphism is not as apparent, dogs and bitches in a litter are of a comparative size, this was and still is a bugbear for all Plummer br
