I was listing the points I, and anyone with half a brain, could clearly discern. Yet you still felt the need to defend that attrocious piece of cruelty, whether or not the owner/owners deliberately slipped those pups. And what did he do to stop it? Ah that's right, he filmed it to show the world wide web! Get real for f**k sake, all you ever do is stick up for anyone/anything saluki related. Edited to add, I certainly am not an expert on salukis or the countries in which they were developed, but I know stupidity and cruelty as soon as I see it, and that was both, couldn't give a flying f

Just watched this for the second time, and there are a few points I'd like to say. 1. There are moronic muppets that own running dogs all over the world, not just Britain. 2. In today's 'enlightened' world I still find it hard to believe that people put up vids like this in the name of 'entertainment' for the world to see. 3. Doesn't matter how you look at it, 'it's different in their culture' blah blah blah bullshit, it's still cruelty. 4. Those dogs are still just pups of I'd say about 9ish months, and with many salukis, same as some deerhounds, they can be slower to ma

Seen more than a few doing exactly that over the years nl. That and their inablity to train a dog and their piss poor attitude to dogs/hunting in general. And since the ban more clueless nerks have got into dogs, and lamping in particular. All of which was the deciding factor in me not taking anyone with me when I used to lamp a fair bit. Just not worth the hassle

Yes, I had a bitch almost identical to yours, and similarly bred, in the late 90's

Nice pup that. Nice to see the normal old fashioned type lurchers on here

All good lads, pork, best meat of all, any way you cook it -
I hadn't heard of it until I just read your post. Said it to my son, as soon as the ban was passed, 'that's it, and there'll be no going back EVER'. It's all being surreptitiously eroded, and a shooting ban altogether won't be too far off, as well as what they've already banned.

pretty sure you lads know already but

I think it's the same with most of the guarding/working dogs these days. Most people opt for the easier to obtain british bred stuff these days. But if you do a bit of homework and are prepared to dig a little deeper, importing or buying pups from imports etc, some of these dogs are great. Look at the state of the majority of GSD'S, as an example, bred in this country, shocking. Not saying ALL, but the majority. Same with alot of the german or continental breeds

Not having a personal dig at you mate, but I've read your post a few times now and am still unclear as to exactly what you are getting at?! 'Rough coat, opens up easy when working, clears alot'?!

Was a few around in the early 80's. An old associate of mine bred a litter from an accidental mating of a working whippet/greyhound sire to a doberman bitch ( guard dog ). He took a bitch and worked her mainly on the lamp. She wasn't great, but was far from useless. Mated her to a collie/grey x saluki/grey and kept a dog and a bitch back. Both pretty good allrounders

Just sent you a pm jetro
-
Jetro, she'll be out of sorts for a while after the op to be spayed, and it's probably left her immune system a bit weaker. So even a partly eaten tablet will affect her more than it normally would have. She be right as rain in a few days . And as wideboy pointed out, meds etc should ideally be kept in a separate room where dogs or kids can't get access to.

What happened mate? -
Nice bitch that. Doesn't look 8 years old though . Not doubting you lol, just looks good for 8

I remember when that thread was up, about six months back. The guy reckons 90% of pups born to a pure greyhound parent WILL turn out crap! Lol. I've owned a few dogs, and seen others from same litters where one parent was a pure greyhound, all went on to make very useful dogs lol. Nice dog trunk

Well done mate, excellent results
-
So you've not seen any 40lb kc whippets? I have, plenty of em, and owned a couple. How tall was your bitch?
-
Fair enough, still turned out whippety though. Looked quite a nice bitch that, you still got it?
-
Genuine question, if you're so anti whippet, why last year or the year before, did you get a lurcher pup that had whippet blood in both sire and dam? Surely you must've known there was a strong possibility of any of the pups turning out whippety, which your bitch obviously did. You can keep saying 'she's bigger than a whippet etc etc, which you did, but anyone could see she was very whippety in type. Seems a strange choice for someone that's so obviously against whippets.
-
Fukc me, you need to get to specsavers, the third dog IS a lurcher

I think he means the pie, mash and stewed eels in the general talk section lol Page two, 'only one cure'
