  1. Truth should always be told when selling livestock ?
  2. All I know, is that before plummer started writing about 'traditional' collie bred lurchers, practically every lurcher I ever saw was just lurcher bred to lurcher, with the owners just half guessing at what might be in them. Some did have a relation or two in the breeding, but I wouldn't go so far to say it was 'proper' linebreeding, just lurcher to lurcher
  3. Correct there mate, was a good forum, which you could get a good idea of the more successful sires that threw better pups than others, workwise. Correct again mate. Compared to some of the absolute shitholes I've been to to see some litters, hancocks is like paradise Good decision mate, you have as much chance as the next person of getting a decent pup, of exactly the cross/type you want. My lad presently has a young dog by merlin on the go, and he's shaping up nicely. We also know of many other merlin bred dogs from hancocks that are already keeping their 'working' owners ve
  4. Mr jones has also thrown some very good workers. Some really good pups by him in ireland
  5. Can't show you any of my mutts, haven't got any at moment ☺. This is my last post on this, now, stay off that homebrew ?
  6. I'm same age as you ☺ Put up what? You won't see me putting pics up, proves NOTHING I don't lie either, and couldn't give a f**k how kindly or not you take insults ☺ Nice bitch ☺ Nice dog ☺ I am NOT the one claiming that i'm going to video my dog talking. I think you're probably suffering some sort of heat exhaustion, unsurprisingly in this weather. Now, go and get in the shade, and remember .............. CHIIIIIIILL ☺
  7. A saluki that had no proper training for four years, and would run away from it's owner, refuse recall, and do what it liked when let off lead, was trained by you in a week. And now you're going to video your dog saying hello, then send it to me, and I'm a muppet?! ? ............ ?. You need to write a book for all saluki owners, on how to train their dogs in basic and field obedience, and, just as importantly, so it seems, also to teach them how to talk! Put me down for a signed copy ?
  8. Not a bull x fan, and really don't like those woolly coated saluki/coursing types, but those other youngsters are belters ?
  9. That That And like terryd said, don't call your dog when you know it won't come back. The best example of this being, when you take it out after a few hours, and it IS going to need a piss and shit. It will do that 1st
  10. One of my old dogs would disagree with you there mate lol. Even though he could've easily caught me hundreds of rabbits, if one got up he showed hardly any enthusiasm at all! Missed, or rather, didn't even really try, on countless rabbits! Hares and deer were a different matter altogether. He'd try his guts out, didn't matter what his chances of catching them were. I could tell what was in front if us before I'd even put the lamp on, depending on his behaviour. Had some great times with the old f****r
  11. Never mind any of your dogs mucker, you yourself need some serious therapy, ya mad bullshitting c**t
  12. A week to train a 4 year old semi feral saluki to be fully trained?!!! Behave ya f****n self!!! ?
  13. That's what I was just gonna say. Yep, salukis are as nuts as their owners ☺
  14. I think these types, grey/collie/whippet, have always been popular. Certainly were where I'm from in south wales, until saluki and bull blooded dogs started to become more popular, like you say especially from the late 80's
  15. Lol mate, almost every whippet pup I've ever known loses a bit of weight in the first week of going to their new home. ?
  16. She's looking great rob. Looking through this thread, there are some REAL experts on how to feed your pup LOL. Can't wait for a few months time ?
  17. Sadly, there'll be plenty more of that this summer. Blacky, as kids none of us really know too much. But there are plenty of dog owners that are far from being kids, well, I know that's debatable lol, but there are many many running dog owners these days that will be getting their 'machines' on the go already in preparation for the coming season ?
  18. Lol exactly. Yeah certainly, keep your dog 'relatively' fit, but like you say, when I read some of the fitness regimes on here, well, it leaves me scratching my head in puzzlement! Lol ?
  19. Yes I understand that mate, but all this biking for miles, free running for 30 -60 mins and roadwalking for 5 miles or whatever, is certainly not needed in the middle of summer. I know you didn't say it, but there'll be more than a few on here already doing it ?
  20. Not cut anywhere near me either. Was just reacting to the op post about first corn cut lol
  21. Yep, now the first corn's been cut, you'll see a plethora of newbies doing upwards of a 100 miles a week roadwork, biking etc, just steady like to start, then a few weeks after that 'the challenges' will start ?
  22. Don't know why people on here keep on starting to improve their dogs fitness in the middle of summer. f***ing madness. Within the next couple of weeks it'll be 'I'm biking my dog for 5 miles, free running for 30 minutes and roadwalking 5 miles, start him off steady'. Steady?! f***ing madness!!
  23. Looks pretty bad that mate. How long ago was it, and did she make a full recovery?
