  1. I take it you don't like 'mcgregor the weasel' then?! Lol
  2. Very mild down my way in south wales, snow not really worth mentioning, apart from some higher ground which had a light covering weeks ago. Chaffinches been pairing up for the last 2-3 weeks and goldfinches pairing up since the last week. And like you said, daffs etc shooting up everywhere.
  3. Jack44, I'm pretty sure nothernlite had a useful dog of this breeding. I remember him putting a few pics up, was a good while back mind. Maybe look for some of his posts. Not too clever myself as to looking for things etc with this new layout to the site lol . Just read fdr's post properly, prob the same thread lol
  4. Well done mate, terriers look a nice pair of characters
  5. I'm off to bed lads, only been in an hour lol. Went for a look at some new permission with my lad
  6. Don't know about 24" but there've been plenty of kc 22-23" dogs around for years
  7. No, to be able to compete at coursing events all whippets couldn't be over 20", dogs and bitches. But pracically all those kennels/breeders etc would have, and did, produce plenty that were over 20"
  8. 15!! Lol that's like an italian greyhound size! Lol. Yeah I definitely think the kc/working lines are the better dogs
  9. The fawn dog looks a nice type. I'll say he's 37lb lol
  10. Jetro, there are quite alot of whippet dogs around the 22ish and bigger mark, even a few at 23, and bitches well over 21 to just under 22, all kc the last 30 ish years. The sire to my lad's kc whippet bitch is 22 3/4" tts. Her dam is exactly 20". His pup is almost 20" at the moment, and isn't 7 months til 2nd feb. I've owned some real crackers over the years that were all pretty big, with even the bitches being well over 21". I don't know, as I've never been into racing, but I'm thinking that alot of the assumptions about whippets being small, fragile etc, came about from the yard/weight
  11. As above mate, most beddy/whippet bitches end up around the 19" tts mark, some a bit smaller, genuine 1st cross bedlington/whippets that is
  12. No, the hedge isn't that thick. But they were in amongst it and not getting ripped. On almost every post about whippets, you ALWAYS bang on about how easy they rip, even if they practically just so much as look at anything sharp/thorny etc. You must've seen some poor whippets to base your assumptions on. And the fact you say every whippet you've seen is too small, fragile, shivery etc, leads me to believe that you've not seen that many whippets actually working. I can assure you that there are plenty of whippets around that are anything but small and fragile, and don't get cut any
  13. ?! and yor whippets didn't get ripped to shreds?! Well blow me down, they were in amongst it AND catching, AND NOT getting ripped to pieces! There are people on here that will be thinking you must've coated your whippets in kevlar Lol
  14. Correct me if I'm wrong trev, but is that hedgerow some type of thorn, blackthorn, hawthorn?
  15. Owned a couple of these, and seen seen several over the years. ALL been good, very capable dogs on all sorts of quarry. Cracking types
  16. Nice, that one out of your 3/4 bitch mate?
  17. Not having it, you've photoshopped those pics to make it look like your whippet can handle bad weather! Everyone knows whippets CAN NOT handle snow, freezing cold winds and harsh ground/weather etc, ask socks he'll tell you
  18. Agree with you fdr. There are a couple of farms we have permission with, and I can assure anyone, they'd not get out of their car when some of their collies are loose in the yard
  19. I meant your 3/4 deer/grey pup. Fine looking dog he's turning into
  20. How's your big pup coming on mate?
