  1. Nice to have pics like that to look back on
  2. Kin el, twice now I'm agreeing with you! Lol. Been saying the same thing for years, whippets add alot to a lurcher
  3. See, they're all f****n barmy, only an arab would try to get his camel to play baseball with his own head! No offence to desertbred, just lightening the mood, peace out brother
  4. Anytime now the match challenges will be doing the rounds, with pups that are so well bred the lines go back to the pair of dogs that noah took with him on his ark. That was something to do with the middle east or thereabouts I think
  5. Chill out, have yourself a cadbury's caramel . I don't do ferreting, haven't for years. Anyway, you did defend it by mentioning training methods, halal etc. Peace out brother
  6. Can't believe I'm writing this, but I actually agree with you! Lol. Tone of voice is key with any pup, especially in situations with other dogs around. That's all I'm saying on the subject. Don't want people jumping down my throat lol
  7. I was listing the points I, and anyone with half a brain, could clearly discern. Yet you still felt the need to defend that attrocious piece of cruelty, whether or not the owner/owners deliberately slipped those pups. And what did he do to stop it? Ah that's right, he filmed it to show the world wide web! Get real for f**k sake, all you ever do is stick up for anyone/anything saluki related. Edited to add, I certainly am not an expert on salukis or the countries in which they were developed, but I know stupidity and cruelty as soon as I see it, and that was both, couldn't give a flying f
  8. Just watched this for the second time, and there are a few points I'd like to say. 1. There are moronic muppets that own running dogs all over the world, not just Britain. 2. In today's 'enlightened' world I still find it hard to believe that people put up vids like this in the name of 'entertainment' for the world to see. 3. Doesn't matter how you look at it, 'it's different in their culture' blah blah blah bullshit, it's still cruelty. 4. Those dogs are still just pups of I'd say about 9ish months, and with many salukis, same as some deerhounds, they can be slower to ma
  9. Seen more than a few doing exactly that over the years nl. That and their inablity to train a dog and their piss poor attitude to dogs/hunting in general. And since the ban more clueless nerks have got into dogs, and lamping in particular. All of which was the deciding factor in me not taking anyone with me when I used to lamp a fair bit. Just not worth the hassle
  10. Yes, I had a bitch almost identical to yours, and similarly bred, in the late 90's
  11. Nice pup that. Nice to see the normal old fashioned type lurchers on here
  12. S H H he's turning into a nice dog. How tall is he now?
  13. All good lads, pork, best meat of all, any way you cook it
  14. I hadn't heard of it until I just read your post. Said it to my son, as soon as the ban was passed, 'that's it, and there'll be no going back EVER'. It's all being surreptitiously eroded, and a shooting ban altogether won't be too far off, as well as what they've already banned.
  15. I think it's the same with most of the guarding/working dogs these days. Most people opt for the easier to obtain british bred stuff these days. But if you do a bit of homework and are prepared to dig a little deeper, importing or buying pups from imports etc, some of these dogs are great. Look at the state of the majority of GSD'S, as an example, bred in this country, shocking. Not saying ALL, but the majority. Same with alot of the german or continental breeds
  16. Not having a personal dig at you mate, but I've read your post a few times now and am still unclear as to exactly what you are getting at?! 'Rough coat, opens up easy when working, clears alot'?!
  17. Was a few around in the early 80's. An old associate of mine bred a litter from an accidental mating of a working whippet/greyhound sire to a doberman bitch ( guard dog ). He took a bitch and worked her mainly on the lamp. She wasn't great, but was far from useless. Mated her to a collie/grey x saluki/grey and kept a dog and a bitch back. Both pretty good allrounders
  18. Jetro, she'll be out of sorts for a while after the op to be spayed, and it's probably left her immune system a bit weaker. So even a partly eaten tablet will affect her more than it normally would have. She be right as rain in a few days . And as wideboy pointed out, meds etc should ideally be kept in a separate room where dogs or kids can't get access to.
  19. Nice bitch that. Doesn't look 8 years old though . Not doubting you lol, just looks good for 8
