  1. Don't know if you read the entire thing but it says they are happy to send samples for you to try.
  2. Totally agree some people think its just about economy.
  3. do u use perforated or non perforated Ive got perforated cause that's what I got for free but non perforated would probably be better.
  4. I tried a length of that they were coming out through the sides within 5 minutes. Now Im using land drainage pipe much better.
  5. I made a couple from the same video. Mine look ok but I think theyre going to dig in my shoulder as theyre a bit thin.
  6. I learned through freedomofabirds vids http://www.youtube.com/user/freedomofabird . Its not hard just expect to make one or two cock ups on your first couple of nets and don't give up.
  7. I prefer chinning rabbits. I seem to remember hearing that rabbits bleed heavily from the nose after you hit them with a priest? if that's true it wouldn't be ideal for killing rabbits in the net.
  8. My mk3 doesn't work in the house either fine in the garden though. I know the feeling its been a long summer roll on September.
  9. Lol I think he meant the oils and urine from the coat cos hobs in season tend to roll around in their own pee Do they? Not seen either of mine do that would explain the smell though lol.
  10. Ive hear it can cause problems.. At what age did these ferrets die? Any where between six and ten years Not to bad then. Seems theres no perfect method but snipped hob still sounds best to me. I never liked the jill jab.

  12. Im starting in September and I pack in end of February as theres pregnant does and even a few young by then.
  13. Look for a secondhand hutch you might be lucky and find one for £20 or even less. If youre just starting you would probably be better with 2 jills. Mk3m locator with 1 collar is around £160 new but you might get a cheap secondhand one. As for training Id say handle them alot and feed them rabbit then when theyre 6 months old start them on small warrens.
  14. Ive made my last few nets 10 12 14 16 18 4ft. Was going out to 20 meshes but for me I think 18 is plenty.
  15. 2 jills and one hob will be my team for the coming season. Hobs definitely aren't for everyone but I like working them.
  16. Sounds like a good setup. Simon Whiteheads book is well worth getting especialy if youre new to the sport. Plummers books are entertaining but not entirely factual.
  17. As long as its not someone elses permission Id go for it. Ive got a couple of spots I hit every year. Im going to do some moonlight ferreting this season on another spot.
  18. Im assuming this is a joke but Ill answer just in case.. You need to hit the rabbits brain.
  19. 85 yards, Bearing in Mind i've been at the THL Meet this week end and been practising long range shooting i.e Dropped a Knock down Crow target at at a Measured 92 yards and the 113 m Challenge that Davy t won. Also perfect conditions no wind, Chest shot and straight down He went. 85 yards thats impressive best Ive ever done is a 70 yard crow. I wouldnt usualy shoot vermin at that rang but this was in a ploughed field the crow walked behind a clump of dirt and all that was exposed was its head and neck so I knew it would be a clean kill or a total miss.
  20. I tried this yesterday it worked realy well good tip. I also use frozen bottles in the hutch along with a big bowl of water and I spray the ferrets several times a day.
  21. I ordred 3 dvds from Landmark in April they took about 3 weeks to arrive. When did you order?
  22. I made my own it doesn't look amazing but its solid and keeps the weather out. I made it from the wood that I had laying around which was 18mm shuttering ply and 2x4 baton.
  23. Meat will slowly lose some nutritional value when frozen for long periods of time but not enough to worry about I wouldn't have thought. Still beats the dry food imo.
