    Was out ferreting yesterday did a big warren partly covered in brambles I put a longnet right around it and cut the warren up with a couple of stop nets. Had a couple of rabbits come out in the brambles and sit tight before either getting caught in one of the nets or hopping into another hole. Ended up with 8 rabbit out of this sett. Anyway I started wondering if a catapult would come in handy for shooting the hole hoppers. Anyone ever tried it?

    In my rabbit burgers I put minced rabbit belly pork or sausage meat chillis onion garlic and a little chilli powder.

    Are they £71 each now? That takes the piss. Anyway no Ive not had that happen yet and if it does I hope its in a shallow warren.

    Yeah cheers they are the silver oxide ones. Ive found the problem seems to be with just the one of my collars. I put fresh batteries in turn it on to test it and then a couple of days later the batteries are dead even though its been turned off the entire time.

    I had an 8 last time out as well should have been nine but I lost one out of a bolthole that I didn't see. I just got some more perm with a few on so things are looking a bit better for me. Its amazing the wildlife you see when youre out ferreting. Ive seen plenty of stoats and weasels but not been lucky enough to see one make a kill yet.

    Birds like dove pigeon and magpie seem to put weight on a ferret faster than rabbit meat.

    Potpoacher do you use nets or anything to catch the bolters? I thought about trying it myself years ago but heard a few horror stories about ferrets getting torn up.

    Yeah I was only realy hoping to get my net back. The rabbit wasn't pursed up at all he was just wearing the net like a tie and it must of gotten under his feet as he was running.

    Was ferreting a small orchard yesterday last warren of the day I set up in a hurry because I had to be home for 230. Anyway I was 1 net short for this warren so I covered a double hole with 1 4ft net. I obviously either didn't put the peg in or not far enough because the rabbit bolted taking the net with it wearing it like a tie. I got low watching the rabbit so that I could see where my purse net drops off so I could get it back.     I also use the roughneck micro.Its on its third season and still looking good. Best of all it fits along the top of my net bag.

    How long do your batterys last in the mk3m collars? Theyre supposed to last 300 hours but mine aren't going near that. Not sure if that's because im buying shitty batteries off ebay though.

    Theyre a bit thin on the ground on some of my land this season. Was out 4 hours yesterday got 4 bolts and one of them was a rat.
