  2. Thanks lads , its aways nice to see feedback , he's the brother of the dog in my avatar ( the one i kept)
  3. One of the lurchers i bred 2 years ago came back for his annual spring holiday, his owners have gone off to Cuba, Po was named after the Kung Fu Panda character, not sure why ? LMP38788 by foxhound51, on Flickr LMP38797 by foxhound51, on Flickr LMP38804 by foxhound51, on Flickr
  4. One of your problems is you're shooting through double glazing, it doesn't matter how good your lens is if you shoot through a window, its like fellas that spend a fortune on realy good lenses and then throw a shitty cheap UV filter on the end , it defeats the point of shooting with good glass !! you shouldnt have any problems with iso at 200, i think another problem with compact cameras is they have whats called a digital zoom, which isnt really a proper zoom and crops away at the image , when ever you crop an image you get degredation, i think thats as much your problem as anything
  5. Nice to see the frogs Spawning like crazy , good shots
  6. I can sell you a Canon Xt (350) with battery grip 6 batteries memory card, if your interested, no lens though £150 I'd have to look at P&P but I doubt it would too pricey

  8. Bet the old buggers are paying for it now I know if my two old boys ( brothers that are also 13 ) have a blast around like this are crippled the next day
  9. I'm sorry I only know canon systems , but it seems to me that you've got it on manual focus and not auto, unless your AF isnt working, the only other thing that could be the problem that's already been mentioned is your on auto focus points, manually set it to the centre point.
  10. All in all a good result for Will and the Catistock , what waste of tax payers money

  13. This is true - the reason for that is that it's slightly sharper on account of there being one less element involved. However, the IS will give you a steady shot (assuming a static subject) at shutter speeds equivalent to 2 stops above the non-IS lense. So for freehand use in fading light, it's a far more flexible lense (and particularly if you're using Further to that, there's 2 IS modes, one of which only eliminates vertical movement and is incredibly useful when tracking. I use this mode regularly for motorcycles, my application for the OP would be for dog shots. There's a
  14. Top notch as always Moll, I love that little staffy/whippet , I'd take her in a heartbeat, and what's with the border balancing rats on its head ? hilarious.
  15. There's some very good advice with the exception of your advice about not to buy the 70-200 2.8 non is , I have had this lens for 4years now and would never be without it , I have taken some of my best work with this lens and have made money from them, there many photographers rate the non is version above the is version
  16. Thanks for all the kind comments , Kye all mine are pretty beat up after that trip, for all it wasn't a big haul of coons they all were hard coons and all the dogs took alot of stick even my one bitch that normally sits back and bays got knocked up !
